Meet the Team | Bailey​

Bailey is the newest member of the team at Raceways Motorcycles – playing part in the Yamaha Apprentice Technician Programme. His favourite new model in the showroom would be the 70th Anniversary Yamaha R7! 😎​

When not at home doing online training (as he should be! 😅) he loves spending time outdoors, mountain biking and hiking.

A great start to the week and a great result for one of our Blackpool and The Fylde College automotive students, and another brilliant example of how real work experience changes lives.

Yesterday, a local independent garage picked up the phone with news that one of their team is moving on and before advertising the vacancy, they asked about one of our newly qualified Level 3 automotive learners.
Not just any learner, but someone who has completed two successful work experience placements with them over the last two years and left a lasting impression.

A quick conversation.
An interview arranged.
A confident performance.
And now… full‑time employment starting next week.

This is exactly what high‑quality work experience is all about: building trust, proving ability, and creating genuine opportunities that lead directly into the industry.

Another success story.
Another learner stepping into paid employment.
Another employer choosing talent they’ve seen first-hand.

As promised here's Henry’s story and a true testament to the power of work experience placements

A proper turnaround in fortune as Henry’s had it tough these last few years.
Life threw more at him than most people ever see at his age. But he kept showing up and his tutors kept backing him, pushing, supporting, nudging, reminding him he had it in him to thrive in this industry.
Then came the moment, fresh from completing his Level 3 FE course a qualification he fought for. We sent him out on a two‑week placement to cover an employer’s apprentice during their EPA prep. Not an easy gig, and a real responsibility with real pressure which he rose to. By the end of the placement, the employer Darren Smalley at Brimelows Mot didn’t just thank him…..he offered him a full‑time job.
From a tough few years to a brand new future earned through graft, belief, and the support of tutors who refused to let him settle for anything less than his potential.
We at Blackpool and The Fylde College are proud of Henry and proud of the team and proud of what FE can unlock when everyone pulls in the same direction.

A brilliant end to the week here at Blackpool and The Fylde College
One of our Motorsport students Bailey has secured employment with Raceways Motorcycles after showing real commitment and initiative.
Following his work experience, he volunteered every Friday to build his skills further and prove himself which has paid off.
He now steps into employment and the opportunity for Yamaha manufacturer training, setting him up for a strong future in the motorcycle industry.
Huge congratulations to Bailey, and a massive thank you to Raceways for backing emerging talent.

Never mind the recent summer heat waves!!🌞
Our automotive students at Blackpool and The Fylde College are ramping up the temperature when it comes to finding employment🌡!!

The good news stories just keep coming with
another work placement win!!
One of our students Henry went in for two weeks to cover an employer’s apprentice during their Level 3 EPA prep and he absolutely shone.
Fresh from his Level 3 FE course, Henry stepped into a real workshop, proved himself fast, and made such an impact that the employer offered him a full‑time job.
Two weeks, one chance and whole new future.
Proud doesn’t even cover it.

It’s been a little while since we last posted, but after a well earned summer break we’re back at it and what better way to return than by celebrating our employers and the brilliant opportunities they continue to create.

Our employer partners have opened their doors last academic year and, backed our learners, and the results are amazing yet again.
One student has been offered full‑time employment after impressing throughout his placement.
Another employer is now actively looking for an apprentice, having seen first‑hand the talent and potential our learners bring.

This is exactly why Work Experience matters. When young people get the chance to show what they can do, employers see the attitude, the ability, and the future right in front of them.

A huge thank you to every employer who continues to support our learners, you’re helping shape careers, confidence, and the next generation of industry‑ready talent.
