Shirley has been amazing with my son Jack. She really has gone the extra mile sending encouraging and motivating texts between lessons. She has also texted me with updates as to how Jack is doing and how best to support him. I have been so impressed with how she works, each lesson Jack has felt that he has made progress and understands far more. Today he passed his theory test and was thrilled. Thank you Shirley!

The rules for booking a practical car driving test are changing.
From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to change a driving test booking up to 2 times.
A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping an appointment with another learner

We had an amazing experience with Shirley helping my client towards passing his theory test. Shirley has been very understanding and compassionate and I am very glad that I found her. My client is unable to read and write and Shirley was able to provide the settings so he could participate in learning without any issues. He was able to pass with outstanding results. Road Safety Strategy – What Learners Need to Know

You may hear in the news about a new Road Safety Strategy. This is not a new law — it’s a plan showing what the government might change in the future.

✅ What has NOT changed

No new learner-driver rules

No new tests

No new restrictions for young drivers

The driving theory and practical tests are the same

⚠️ What may change in the future (not yet law)

These are ideas being discussed and would take time, consultation, and approval:

Stricter drink- and drug-driving rules, especially for new drivers

Tougher enforcement for mobile phone use, seatbelts, and illegal number plates

More safety technology in new cars (e.g. automatic braking)

More 20 mph areas in towns and cities

⏳ Ideas that are less certain

A minimum learning period before taking the test

Extra rules just after passing (like night-time limits)
These are not confirmed and would be debated carefully before anything changes.

I cannot thank Mrs Shirley enough! She was such a blessing in my life, I could never ever get anywhere when I was studying on my own ( I get easily overwhelmed with lots of information and end up not knowing where to start) I’ve only been with Mrs Shirley for such a short time and already passed my test today 😍 (15th December 2025).
She was so patient with me throughout and I do need to say having someone who’s always making sure you’re studying and trusting yourself helps so much, It made me push myself more and more towards the goal!

I just want to say a huge thank you to driving theory tutor, she is absolutely amazing. She’s so patient with me, and she truly has a gift for teaching. From the very first session, I learned so much and came away with so much knowledge and confidence.
My second lesson was even better. She just knows exactly what’s best for you, how to explain things clearly, and how to make everything make sense. She creates such a calm, supportive environment that makes learning enjoyable instead of stressful.
I’m genuinely grateful for her guidance and the effort she puts into every session. If you’re looking for someone who is skilled, encouraging, and truly invested in your success, I couldn’t recommend her enough x
