The Winter MOT Opportunity 🚗❄️

We might not be reaching for the winter coat just yet, but the aftermarket is already looking ahead.

Colder mornings, darker evenings, wetter weather and, of course, MOT season all mean more vehicles heading into workshops and more opportunities for replacement parts.

From engine management, emissions and heating to lighting and visibility, having the right parts available can make all the difference when an MOT failure needs turning into a repair.

Emissions are Getting More Attention ⚠️

There’s also more attention being placed on vehicle emissions. Proposed Government measures could bring tighter requirements around in-use emissions, including DPFs, EGR, SCR/AdBlue systems and catalytic converters, with new legislation envisaged for 2027.

The A1 Automotive Group Convention 2026 came to a close yesterday, and what a way to round it off!

It was an honour to sponsor this year’s event, and to be part of it all, from the Supplier Workshop and catching up with A1 members to the Gala Dinner & Awards and Farewell Drinks.

And of course, it wasn’t just the conversations that made it memorable. Stunning views, great food and drink, and some fantastic company made for a few days to remember.

David Hanslip and Tim Brotherton were there throughout, flying the flag for ELTA, meeting familiar faces, making new connections and talking all things aftermarket.

There was also plenty of opportunity to introduce our new Champion the Aftermarket this Winter campaign, bringing together Lucas, VXPRO, and Serck Automotive around the products and support that matter this winter.
