**Business Update** 29/06/2020

Mandatory testing is to be reintroduced from 1 August 2020 as COVID-19 restrictions are slowly lifted, Roads Minister Baroness Vere has announced today (29 June 2020).

Drivers are encouraged to book a test in advance to ensure vehicles are in a roadworthy condition.

Vehicle owners with an MOT due date before 1 August will still receive a 6-month exemption.

If Your MOT is due after the 1st Of August please do not hesitate to get in touch. Our diary is now open and we will happily book you in.

As you are now aware your MOTs have now been extended - with this only applicable to any MOTs due after Monday 30th March.

It is still vital that you make sure your car is in a SAFE and ROAD WORTHY condition.

In order to enable you to do this we are still taking bookings for MOTS and services and all types of car repairs including Tyres & batteries and anything required to keep your vehicle on the road during this time - if you need it for essential journeys.

We are currently offering a collection service which can be arranged via phone for those in the local area, all payments can be taken over the phone which requires no contact. All keys and cars are currently being wiped down before and after use with Isopropyl alcohol wipes (70%) and protective barrier gloves are being worn during any labour conducted on your vehicle.

We are offering discounts on all work conducted for KEY WORKERS including those working in the following areas NHS, POLICE, FIRE SERVICE, MEDICAL SUPPLIERS, FINANCIAL SERVICES, DELIVERY DRIVERS & RETAIL WORKERS (proof of ID necessary) so please do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you are self-isolating, or if you have any of the symptoms of COVID19 you MUST NOT bring your vehicle in for an MOT or ANY work required - please phone and we will happily re-book your vehicle in for a later date.

Following government's guidelines we are allowed and intend to stay open for the foreseeable future.

*CORONAVIRUS UPDATE* 27/03/2020

PLEASE SHARE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

The Government has now granted car owners a six month exemption from MOT testing. The new law however will not come into effect until MONDAY 30TH MARCH 2020 meaning all vehicles due MOT tests before this date MUST still have an MOT carried out.

The decision by the government is designed to allow vital services to continue and to allow our key workers the ability to get to work and ordinary people to get essentials like food and medicine.

Although this exemption is welcomed in the current circumstances, each of us still has a personal responsibility to ensure our vehicles are kept in a ROAD WORTHY CONDITION.

Tiburon Automotive will therefore remain open for MOTs up until MONDAY 30TH MARCH and for urgent and essential repairs for the FORESEEABLE FUTURE.

**Please be aware that you may still face prosecution if your vehicle is found to be in an unacceptable condition on the road. The roadworthiness of your car is still your responsibility and if you are aware of issues which would result in a FAILED MOT you MUST NOT continue to drive your vehicle**

The new law will be implemented from Monday 30th March and will remain in effect for 12 months, with this subject to continuous review by the Government.

As always your SAFETY remains our top priority and we are already implementing precautions to keep all of you and myself safe. Cars can therefore be dropped off with minimal contact. All keys and car surfaces are currently being wiped before and after work has been completed and protective barrier gloves are worn at all times. Payment can be made over the phone for any work carried out. Collection of your vehicles may also be available in the local area - please phone for more details 0121 766 6254.

If you have symptoms of Coronavirus please do not bring your vehicle for an MOT or repairs and take the government advice to self isolate.

**CORONAVIRUS UPDATE** 23/03/2020

PLEASE SHARE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

Garages are considered an essential service and so, even as other businesses reduce their service or shut down entirely, we as an MOT station WILL remain open and you should be able to book your MOT test as usual.

The DVSA has said that, for the moment, MOTs for cars, motorcycles and light vans are continuing as normal.

That means that if your car/bike/van is due its MOT in the coming days you should still arrange to have the test carried out. Failing to do so could invalidate your insurance and leave you at risk of being fined.

As a business we are encouraging social distancing where possible, so you will be able to drop your car off at our premises and leave the keys in a designated area for me to collect, keeping both of us safe. The designated place can be discussed over the phone - 0121 766 6254.

Payments can also be made over the phone by card, and we would encourage this as the preferred method of payment in the current circumstances.

Due to the recent restrictions on public transport, it is essential that those individuals (mainly key workers) still on the road, are able to travel to and from work in a safe manner - we will remain open to help you do this. Further to this we will be offering discounts on all work conducted for KEY WORKERS including those working in the following areas NHS, POLICE, FIRE SERVICE, MEDICAL SUPPLIERS, FINANCIAL SERVICES, DELIVERY DRIVERS & RETAIL WORKERS (proof of ID necessary) so please do not hesitate to get in touch.
