Another Pass 🙏 This learner had intensive lessons with me. Sadly I couldn’t take her to her test as I was away, however I advised that she continue to practice with family for a few lessons prior to the test, remembering and applying everything learnt in the lessons. She went on to pass first time! 🚙

Recent pass 🎉
Once again, I’m very proud to say the least. This learner always did her best, even when it seemed too hard. Hard work and dedication paid off! 🚙

❄️ ❄️ Black Ice ❄️ ❄️

Black ice is a thin, clear layer of ice that forms on road surfaces, making it hard to see because it blends in with the roads and pavements.

It’s very dangerous for driving, for several reasons so it’s really important that you’re aware of these:

- black ice is nearly invisible, so drivers often don’t know it’s there.
- It causes very low traction, making tires lose grip on the road.
- Vehicles can slide, skid, or spin out suddenly.
- It gives drivers little to no time to react.
- It often forms on bridges, overpasses, shaded areas, and curves, which are already risky spots.
- It commonly develops when temperatures are around freezing, especially at night or early morning.
- Even careful drivers can lose control because braking, steering, and accelerating become unpredictable.

Black ice can cause serious accidents even when roads appear dry and safe. Go slower, observe more, and remember no sudden movements such as breaking, steering and accelerating. Plan ahead. Be safe out there! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ 🚙

This learner worked incredibly hard to earn this pass. She persevered through both the highs and lows, and despite her nerves, she succeeded, and FIRST time at that!!

It was a pleasure teaching you and getting to know you. đźš™
Wishing you the very best on your journey towards becoming a doctor!

First-time pass today! What makes this moment so special is knowing just how hard my learner has worked to get here.

This hasn’t been a smooth or easy road; there were days when things didn’t go well, days when he felt discouraged and days when the setbacks seemed to pile up.

But despite every low moment, he kept going. He showed up, he tried again and he put in the effort even when it felt impossible.

His determination has been incredibly inspiring to watch. Every difficult lesson, every moment of frustration and every bit of self-doubt has led him to this well-deserved success.

Passing first time is an achievement, but passing after so many tough moments is something truly special. I’m so proud of you and your resilience and everything you’ve overcome. Wishing you all the best!

Congratulations! đźš™

‼️

Unfortunately, if you book a driving test without having our instructors explicit consent to do so, then you will not be allowed to take your test in their, or any DrewMatic vehicle, no exceptions, no excuses and you will find that Driving Instructors everywhere have heard the “my instructor let me down,” or “my instructor is unavailable” story a hundred times before.

I’m sorry this is so brutal, but we have to help people understand in clear and certain terms that we will not support any client who books a driving test before they are, in our professional opinion ready.

By all means, take your test in your own car, but do us a favour- make sure that you own that feeling you get when you hear the words “ Okay that is the end of the test, I’m sorry, but you haven’t passed.”

We understand that when DVSA release test dates that there is a panic rush to buy, but we will not tolerate pressure being put on our instructors to oblige this kind of panic buying.

DVSA in a way, blame your instructor for you failing your test, ask your instructor to explain “Standards Check Markers.”

A Standards Check can, in some cases, cause your instructor to lose their job, imagine that, if it happened to you, your livelihood gone up in smoke- because it can and does happen.

Once your instructor has explained the process, you’ll perhaps understand why many Driving Schools take the view that you’ll only take your test when you’re told you’re ready.
