Hello my followers, hope you all keeping well and safe , it has been a quiet few weeks we were due to creates a new posts on my page but work load has been really busy lately, we have numbers of case study but this one was one of my favourite and challenging so i have decided to choose this beautiful Range Rover sport L494 chassis that we have been asked to diagnose the fault as customer was complaining on restricted performance , as we always carry out visual inspection to see anything out of ordinary but with not much room in engine bay there was a little to evident, next course of action were carried out global scan and with this vehicle the protocol for diagnostic report is on DOIP not CAN , Carried out global scan and have had few fault on drivetrain modules most of it was related to engine breather related , fault for air mass sensor, map sensor , egr valve position, DPF soot content , further investigation with serial data logging and extended road test confirmed this vehicle was in limp home mode , back in workshop and carried out test on air mass frequency test with PicoScope math channel confirmed pass test , map sensor is plausible , egr valve active test pass , and at this point DPF is symptom not a cause however DPF is still need attention too , after all what we know so far ?? What is next why engine Ecu see all this fault and we confirm all this component functionality is good , this is where reading fault and clearing code doesn’t take you too far !! From this point brand knowledge, manufacture technical product information and having 20 year plus on diagnostic and trouble shooting come into play , before we pull trigger and spend customer money without logical and solid understanding of how system work this vehicle could have spend over £1000 before even getting no where with it , do you have an issue with your vehicle we can help you to pinpoint your fault with test not guess .
