ride) aesthetically very pleasing, beautifully put together and highly effective in their primary function of protection. Our philosophy at Davida stems from years of riding bikes. We have always understood, from experience, the importance of good kit when you're on the road. Whether being bold in the city or staying comfortable on challenging rides, certain things should not be compromised. That is why our helmets have always used the highest quality leather linings and why we have invested so much time developing designs that ensure a good fit. Modelled around the size and shape of the head, the overall size of the helmet is proportional to your head size- a smaller shell for smaller heads and visa versa. These helmets have always looked "right". yes, they are evocative of the past, but they are fresh as well. When it comes to the crucial function of a helmet safety, Davida have satisfied many of the Worlds strictest standards, achieving ECE-R2205 certification, ACU Gold in the UK as well as certifications for the USA, Scandinavia and Japan. Based on the Wirral, England, Davida are now the sole UK manufacturers of motorcycle helmets. We are proud that, unlike most modern creations, these helmets are still hand-built using the best quality materials available. Every distinctive livery and detail is carefully created by individuals who still care about these things. We have also selected a collection of the best goggles available from around the world, all of which have been road tested by us to ensure that they fit well and work effectively with our helmets. Davida Helmets Through Time On IOM Races

Big thanks to Ed Radciffe Mike Radcliffe photographers on the IOM for catching those moments. Mats Olofsson got the one of Fidsters next to Cameron Donald Manx owned by Peter Duke if I am correct, his dad Geoff Duke.

The fully history on this bike maybe someone might message me. So Michael Dunlop and Cameron Donald wearing our classics maybe they are in there personal collections. God knows maybe I ask Carl Cox he comes to Creamfields in Liverpool. If you look at the lasts shots right to left Classic 1980s, 80s open face other brand used on the TT, 90s our Speedster, 2000s 92 helmets, last one our Speedster v4 Medium ECE R22-06. Its actually smaller than the others at first glance, for sure really good design fit and functionality. See our reviews on our website. Rachael Clegg top photo some of you will know her she has a stand behind the grandstand. Royal Enfield gave her a bike to do her journalist job she knows a lot for sure mc family from the NW area.
Some photos of the Manx GP Cameron Mc Donald Australian Racer riding a Norton in a parade. The other down under rider Bruce Antsy from New Zealand has also worn our Classic on TT laps parades and Michael Dunlop.

Pre TT IOM
Mike Hose normally races against Bill Swallow 2nd photo, Bill has used our ECE 05 Jet for maybe 10 years or more, open face not allowed any more racing on the IOM. Look at the times last 2 photographs amazing how competitive it is even on old British bikes. Everything counts our close contact with racers and riders enables us to see what people need with a helmet in real world situations. Neil Campbell in one of the photographs goes to Bonneville salt flats in the USA in July to attempt the 200mph record on his bicycle. He has a 175mph Guinness book of records in 2019.

These shots Mike Hose Pre TT in our Koura Full Face next shot Bill Swallow in our Jet he used that for maybe 10 years or more. I spoke to Bill yesterday he said casually yep I do about 93mph or something he is 70s plus. Andy Hornby I know cycles a lot used to be a professional, Mike Hose swan the river Mersey when he was 15 years old. His brother Hadden who has built the Honda 600 he is racing, used to race. When he was 16 he was doing 130 lengths butterfly swimming. I had to smile in the workshop listening the other day. The Olympic games trainers said to them just stop doing doing that, sure they carried on. Bill Swallow in the pits one day I said who is your friend a female runner he said, I train with her fell running in Yorkshire. i swim and cycle and run to keep fit to ride my Hayabusa KTM BMW but no way that pace respect and smile. Oh yeh Neil on his bicycle he goes for 200mph on Bonnerville USA July 2026, I see him today riding out.

I remember that same year George at Greenfield Flat track had a party end of season. He hired one of those mechanical bulls and put it in a tent.
I distinctly remember watching both Leah and Gary having a go. The man controlling increased the speed of the bucking bull. They both stayed on I was impressed.

Motorcycle Athletes Pre TT & IOM Davida Helmets IOM 22 May to7 June
Quick mixed post its started today the Pre TT Classic. IOM TT races till the 7th June. You have to be a athlete of sorts to do this it takes something. Top photo Mike Hose 6 bikes racing St and Sunday Pre TT 5 vans a crew for each bike. I watched the prep passing by his workshop. Other helmets and people shown athletes on bikes.
We take our testing helmet development very seriously. The Speedster v4 has a permanent base at Openface Racer in Douglas on the Isle of Man see Howard, stock will be in there Tuesday all colours and sizes. If you make it for a day or so actually easy if nothings booked take your cycle on the boat and cycle around keeps up fit for battle enjoy. Fid

I was just saw these photos in our archive. The IOM TT is close.

Anyone who can say what year we released our Mike Hailwood Jet helmet for the family.

I go to the factory now and look inside our Hailwood helmets it will tell me.

Choppers 1970s IOM TT Races

This top shot must be my favourite motorcycle shot ever. Taken by Chris Killip originally from the IOM. I retraced steps of this photo at the Classic TT on my bicycle. Chris used to stay at Tom Woods Photographer New Brighton Looking for Love Book check it. Funny part of Davida history how long have you got! The Last Resort Martin Parr.

Its time for a chopper it would be nice. Charlie 3rd photo has a nice shovel, if you need a hot shoe for flat track racing he is you man he makes them and many other things.

So I get out of the house away from this computer and ride to Wales and walk a mountain. I use a Kreiga K28 bag super handy for carrying a laptop bit of gear not much, I use a roll top throw things in that and hide it in some bushes.
