Unfortunately I’ve had to cancel jobs booked for this week due to the weather. Polishes and waxes do not perform well in extreme temperatures and if I can’t do a job to the levels I set then I won’t start them.
The jobs I’ve had to cancel have been notified and rebooked. Please bear in mind if you’re using roadside washes or cleaning your own cars be wary of the effects of strong cleaners being allowed to dry on your car and consider cleaning one panel at a time or waiting until the evening when the panels should be much cooler.
Stay safe everyone and if you’re outdoors wear sunscreen, a hat and keep hydrated.

Todays job was a gold detail on this 15 year Old Ford Focus , with under 50,000 miles covered the car was in need of a deep clean as the owner has been unable to clean the car themselves and the normal location they use has closed. So I was asked to give this car some tlc and to ensure the removal of mould and debris that had built up whilst the car was sitting.

Today’s task was a visit to my customer who is a serial car restorer. He has rebuilt a number of cars he aspired to own or admired when he was younger. This one is a car from 1986 that I recall a couple of my friends owning “back in the day” when they were new. With a name that perfectly explained the cars purpose this car featured a 1.6 litre twin cam engine in a lightweight body with nearly 130bhp. The Toyota MR2

Today was a visit to a repeat customer who asked for the exterior of their car to be detailed , leaving them to deal with the interior. This is not a service I normally offer as I will only book one detail per day to ensure I have time to deal with any issues that might come up. However for an existing customer I was prepared to make the time to get the car up to a good standard. This 10 year old car has covered just over 40,000 miles but my customer tells me it has never been polished , just regularly washed. So a full external deep clean and decontamination followed by a polish and then a wax by hand. Tyres and trim dressed , glass cleaned and job done.

Another early start for what we knew was going to be a warm one. Id been booked to carry out a gold detail and some machine polishing to deal with bush rash and some previous poor wash techniques. One of the downsides of detailing in the heat is that you need to work much smaller sections , with more polishing pads and compound being used as it dries out so quickly. This 2024 Range Rover HSE is finished in metallic Santorini black with soft cream leather interior. Once the car had been decontaminated and cleaned I was able to see how many marks the car had along either side. So polishers out and slowly but surely the exterior vastly improved. The interior was then vacuumed mats and carpets cleaned ,leather cleaned and dressed and glass cleaned inside and out.

An early start today to work on a black car in direct sunlight (not ideal). This Audi Q7 is a recent purchase for my customer which was quite well prepared by the supplying dealer but after living with the car for a while my customer found a number of scratches which he hadn’t noticed initially. So an early start, deep clean and out came the machine polishers to either remove or improve the appearance of the damage.

Todays challenge , a 2016 Audi Q5 suv. This one was a recent purchase after the families last car was recently stolen. Registered in 2016 this car has only covered around 48,000 miles so it’s still in good order. My customer has very sensibly booked the car in for a major service to include a timing belt as there was only limited service history with the car but whilst waiting for the service from the local Audi specialist he booked it in for a gold detail and some machine polishing to soften the appearance of some scratches.

A day in the sun (not ideal but very nice anyway) to provide a gold detail and a lot of machine polishing to this 2018 Audi TT. My customer had the car serviced at a main dealer and despite them being asked not to wash the car they did and unfortunately managed to leave some swirls and marks on the paintwork. In frustration my customer had tried to correct the marks but had used the wrong product and they had sent me some pictures which caused me no small concern. So the car was booked in for a gold detail and machine polishing to hopefully correct the problem. The pictures tell the story.

I visited a repeat customer today who have recently changed their car to this 2024 Ford Puma ST-line. The car was in generally good condition but my customer had noticed a few minor external issues but more importantly a strong chemical smell inside the car which seemed to be masking the fact that the car had been previously used by a smoker. When cleaning a car used by a smoker it is essential that your processes include all of the areas the smoke can reach. In this case the seatbelts still smelled strongly of smoke. A simple trick when cleaning seat belts is to extend them to their maximum and clip in to the seat belt buckles to apply and cleaner prior to use of an Ozone machine and or a fogging machine which allows the entire surface to be dealt with. Following a vacuum I then used my ozone machine to do its stuff I began working on the exterior a SnowFoam and rinse followed by a second snowfoaming and hand wash was followed with a chemical decontamination, then glue and tar remover to remove a number of tar spots along either side of the car. I then polished the car by hand , sealing in the shine with a coat of wax. By this time the ozone machine had completed its cycle and I then used my fogging machine to deodorise the car further still. Glass cleaned, tyres dressed and job done.
