This Series 1 E-Type was brought to the Kingsbury Racing Shop because it was making a mysterious noise.
The 3.8-litre Jaguar is used as an 'arrive and drive' car for clients of .

We discovered worn steering rack bushes, and uncovered other issues with the steering mechanism's UJ. After replacing it with a new old stock component, we carefully set up the steering to avoid the issues E-Types suffer from when re-assembly is not perfect.

If you have a vehicle collection that spans different eras, trust Kingsbury to care for all of them, from pioneer to post-classic.

The new owner of this 1924 Bentley Speed Model delivered it to the Kingsbury Racing Shop for some important work before taking it for its first serious drive in quite some time.

The 'A-box' gearbox has become noisy due to wear. It's such a common issue that we have developed and manufacture our own gears and improved shaft design to cure it. We noticed the rear diff was leaking, so also inspected that while the car was partially disassembled. Additionally, we are servicing brakes, replacing wheel bearings and generally preparing it for long-distance touring.

It's great to see another century-old vehicle back on the road and being enjoyed.

Remote South American off-road routes exert a heavy toll on any kind of vehicle, never mind a century-old Bentley, so Kingsbury Racing Shop aim to leave no stone unturned when it comes to serious rally prep.
A month-long event, like the Gaucho Motor Trail place unusual stresses on these old vehicles, which are heavily loaded with spares, equipment and luggage.

A broken leaf spring spells the end of a rally, so we strip, crack test, add extra leaves to deal with punishment and repack with grease. We also use a new coating we have developed to prolong the life of the suspension.

Talk to Kingsbury about preparing your vintage or classic car for rallies, long-distance touring or competition.

The Kingsbury Racing Shop team had a wonderful time at the annual Bentley Drivers Club race meeting and also left Silverstone with silverware.

Our operations director retained his BDC champion’s trophy, while Kingsbury clients Clive Morley and Richard Hudson rounded out the podium places from a field of 14 starters in the WO Bentley Duff & Clement Race.

The gained more track experience and posted solid lap times behind the wheels of a pair of shop’s pre-war Bentleys.

Lewis also track-tested the stunning 1931 Alfa-Romeo 6C we have recently had in the workshop, finishing seventh in a mixed pre-war grid after a good battle with a more modern Aston Martin Speed Model.

Thanks to everyone involved in making the event happen, and all those we spoke to during it.

Contact the Kingsbury team for your racing preparation or event support requirements.

The vintage Bentley hub pullers we make are a Kingsbury Racing Shop essential, and a must-have for serious long-distance rally drivers.
Without one, it's next to impossible to remove the hub (without risking damage).
With one, roadside service and repairs are enabled.
Don't try clearing out stones and detritus that's found its way into the drum without one.
Pre-war Bentleys have two pairs of rear brake shoes, one for the foot brake, the other for the hand brake. Intrepid rally drivers have swapped damaged shoes for good ones to enable them to continue.

We have limited stock remaining of this recent run of our made-in-house hub pullers. Contact us to order yours.

Due to ever-increasing work loads, the Kingsbury Racing Shop team needs to grow. We require an experienced classic car mechanic/technician to concentrate on the growing classic side of our business, with some crossover to the vintage vehicles we service and restore.

Based out of our recently expanded headquarters on the world famous site, the successful applicant will have experience of working to high standards on a variety of classic cars. Working as part of a diverse and dedicated team, they must be a problem-solver, happy to use their initiative.

The successful candidate will become part of small team working on beautiful, historic vehicles as part of a business that aims to complete as much as it can in-house thanks to our machine and engine shops. Experience of race car preparation useful, but not essential.

Apply by email, to Kingsbury Racing.

Not every 95-year-old car can make it from Beijing to Paris, never mind doing it at a record-setting pace. And it's a rare pre-war machine that can be driven enthusiastically around Norway or Southern Africa, hundreds of miles every day for a fortnight or more, for fun.

Kingsbury Racing Shop has a track record of preparing historic cars to complete these events with a certain aplomb.

If the burgeoning vintage rally scene is one that interests you, talk to Kingsbury about preparing your car, or finding a suitable one, for your next great adventure.
