Motor Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Motor Vehicle Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Repair or replace defective components, including brakes, suspension, steering, exhausts, and engine parts.
• Perform MOT preparation work and identify any issues that may affect vehicle roadworthiness.
• Complete all work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised, and safe.
• Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements
Essential
• Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good knowledge of vehicle systems and repair procedures.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
• Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent qualification).
• MOT Tester qualification (NOT a deal breaker)
• Experience working with multiple vehicle manufacturers.
• Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles.
