Windscreen Blues.

Something’s afoot in the windscreen game,
The daily footfall ain’t the same.
Customers clutch their coins with care,
While frosty mornings nip the air.

The chip repairs wait, the cracks grow wide,
But wallets stay zipped, pride tucked inside.
The workshop hums with half the roar,
As folks delay what they can’t ignore.

Christmas is coming at quite a dash,
But windscreen woes don’t get the cash.
It’s tinsel first, then turkey meat,
While safety glass takes backseat.

Yet through the sleet and budget strain,
The fitters still show up again.
With resin, polish, grit and grace,
They hold the line in a quiet race.
