Who are we? If you're new here, a little bit about us....
We are at small (super duper small) family business called Russell Autocentre based on queens drive bedford.
We have one mechanic Matt , with over 25 years experience, he started here at 17 , then going on to be a ford trained mechanic for over 10 years. Returning here around 12 years ago, working again alongside the well known vic, who has since retired. (And is enjoying retirement, tinkering with his indian motorbike!)
6 years ago we had the opportunity to take over the workshop , and this was a huge risk but we took it, and I (Lizzie) closed my business (making celebration and wedding cakes) and was thrust into cars!!! And have since gone on to attain my MOT station manager qualification.
We pride ourselves on our honestly. And always trying our absolute best to do right by our customers. Garages as a whole have a bad reputation, but I can honestly say I am so proud of how much our customers trust us with their cars, and let's be honest, their safety.
My knowledge has grown over the years and am able to discuss most issues with customers even if it be in laymen terms!! But sometimes cutting the technical jargon works!
Also having a female within this very very male dominated industry can, I hope, only go in our favour. except when I moan about how cold the workshop is 🤣 and giggle when I have to tell a customer their coolant fl**ge is leaking.....
We are the very proud parents of 4 amazing children. And sometimes the juggle is absolutely real, but we wouldn't have it any other way, many of our customers know, our youngest son has had many health challenges in his life and we are blessed to be able to be there for him with the flexibility of working for yourself .
(He's doing really well at the moment 🥰)
Your may also be greeted by the barks of woody and watson our rescue dogs who join us often at the workshop, they're loud, but honestly just want treats and tummy rubs.
Bedford is blessed with several very good independent garages whom we regularly recommend when a job is out of our remit, or we just can't physically fit it in, and we continue to do so going forward. And we have the amazing mechanic Dan, who matt went to school with who specialises in assisting us in timing belts, clutches and so much more!
So yeah, that's us in a nutshell, we look forward to many years of helping our current customers and welcoming new ones,
