PART 5: Sam Gets a New Job 🚗

Good news everyone.

Sam’s got a new job only 4 miles away.

Which is ideal because previously she was doing a 55mile round trip every day purely to keep Kwik Fit in business.

So naturally we thought:
Less driving = less incidents.

Wrong.

Because despite only travelling approximately the distance of a large Tesco…
she’s still driving everywhere like she’s transporting organs.

The Evoque now spends more time warming up than actually commuting.

Fuel bill’s gone down though.
Police awareness remains steady.

Current status:
Commute: 4 miles ✅
Stress levels: unchanged ✅
Car: somehow still surviving ✅
Sam: still approaching roundabouts with confidence instead of technique ✅

At this point I genuinely think the problem follows her around rather than being location-based.

Well… she did it ❤️🌙

Saturday night into Sunday morning, Sam completed the MoonWalk, 26.2 miles through the night for breast cancer.

I honestly can’t put into words how proud I am of her.

This was always personal. Sam lost her mum, Anita, to breast cancer in 2010, and there isn’t a day she isn’t missed. Sam did this walk for her mum, and for everyone affected by this horrible disease.

What a lot of people might not know is that Sam really didn’t think she’d be able to do it. She has rheumatoid arthritis, so 26.2 miles overnight was a massive thing to take on.

But over the last year she’s lost 6 stone, worked so hard, and got herself to that start line.

And then she got herself to the finish line the only way Sam could… with her headphones on, dancing from marker to marker, stopping to dance with the marshals, and using the music to drag herself forward when her body was telling her to stop.

She kept telling herself she was feeling strong, even when she was in a world of pain.

And then, to top it off, her sister Lindsay and brother-in-law Dave rocked up as a surprise to support her, which completely blew her away.

That’s Sam all over. Stubborn, stroppy, determined, probably moaning a bit… but still dancing 😂

I’m so proud of you, Sam. For the walk, for the last year, and for the person you are.

Your mum would be bursting with pride ❤️

This Saturday night my wife Sam is doing the MoonWalk overnight for breast cancer 🌙

This one’s really personal for us. Sam lost her mum Anita, to breast cancer in 2010 and she’s missed every day.

Sam is doing this walk in her mum’s memory, and to support everyone affected by this awful disease. And if you know Sam, you’ll know she’s a stroppy, stubborn pain in the arse… so once she sets her mind to something, there’s no stopping her 😂

She’ll be walking through the night alongside survivors, fighters, families, and supporters

I’ll always be grateful to Anita for raising the woman I love and giving us the family we have today ❤️

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of Sam for doing this. If anyone would like to sponsor her, even the smallest donation would mean so much to us and help support an amazing cause.

Thank you!

I’m taking part in the London MoonWalk 2026 in loving memory of my wonderful mum, Anita, who sadly lost her battle with breast cancer on 3rd September 2010. She was brave, beautiful, and endlessly pos...

🚗 MOT due?

Time to stop ignoring that dashboard light that’s been glowing since Christmas 👀😂

Before your MOT, check these few things:

✅ Lights work
✅ Tyres still have tread on them
✅ Wipers wipe, not just move dirt around
✅ Screen wash has something in it
✅ Number plate can actually be read
✅ No warning lights glaring at you
✅ No mystery noises sounding like a washing machine full of bricks

Amazing how many MOT fails come down to stuff that takes 5 minutes to sort.

If your car needs a once over before the big day, give me a call or a message, 07585 709525

I come to you 🔧

Ayrton’s out on jobs making new contacts… 🐶🤝🐶

Met Wayne today and immediately got down to some serious business negotiations.

No barking. No drama. Just a full MOT inspection of each other’s rear suspension. 😂

Meanwhile I’m still waiting for customers to greet me this enthusiastically 🚐🔧

“Just a quick job.”

Yeah, absolutely. Blink and you’ll miss it… if blinking takes 4 hours and involves removing half a Renault Master.

Steering rack’s out anyway 👍

All jokes aside… I actually love this job. No office, no two days the same, and occasionally I get to dismantle a van on someone’s driveway for fun. Living the dream 🔧😄

Not your usual post from me today, but something that happened this morning while I was out on the road really stuck with me.

I came across a situation where a man on a bike had stopped a woman in her car and was aggressively shouting at her over what he said was a bad judgment call. It had gone way beyond a simple disagreement, he was swearing, intimidating her, and clearly trying to bully her. The poor woman was in tears and having a full panic attack.

I stepped in and told him, very firmly, to leave her alone. From what I could gather, he had actually been chasing her down the road before stopping her.

Look, we all make mistakes on the road. It happens. But there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of behaviour, it’s dangerous, it’s intimidating, and it can seriously affect someone.

As someone who spends most of my life driving around, I see all sorts. But today was a reminder that a bit of patience and basic human decency goes a long way.

If you’re out there driving, riding, or just going about your day, take a breath. Don’t let anger take over. You never know what someone else is dealing with.

Stay safe out there 👍

Ayton’s away on a course today.

He’s just sent me this. Looks full on.

I’m here working unsupervised, which feels irresponsible.

P.S. He’s with his dog walker.

Out on a job this weekend and found some extra horsepower on site 🐴

Sadly, he couldn’t hold a spanner… still better company than some customers.

Today is apparently “bring your granddaughter to work” day 🔧👶

It’s only 11am and she’s already moved half my tools, pressed something she definitely shouldn’t have, and asked about 47 questions I couldn’t answer.

Every job now comes with full supervision.
Nothing I do seems to meet her standards.

Customers love her.
I’ve just been demoted.

Pretty sure I don’t run this business anymore, I just drive her round 😄
