Solex 28CBI from a Citroen 2CV 425cc 1965 fully restored and back with my customer.
Carburetter was completely stripped and assessed before going through several cleaning stages,throttle body was rebushed,all metal parts re-plated and a general Solex rebuild kit sourced. The carburetter was then re-built to factory settings.

A Japanese Solex/Mikuni and inlet manifold from a Mitsubishi C**t Celeste 2.0 1978 now fully restored and back with the customer and awaiting re-fitting once the vehicle restoration is complete.
Carburetter was fully stripped and went through several stages of cleaning, the throttle body and choke body was rebushed, all metal parts re-plated before being rebuilt and set to factory settings, finding all the correct parts for this carburetter proved challenging but I eventually sourced all the parts required.
The inlet manifold was vapour blasted and the faces checked to ensure they were flat, and in this case only a light clean up was required, all metal parts re-plated before the carburetter was refitted.

Ferrari 365 carburetter restoration.
This car came in for some tuning work to The Supercar Tech and it was quickly discovered it needed more attention and I was asked to inspect the car.
The carburetters and inlet manifold were removed and I found all inlet manifold to be warped, stripping one of the 3 Weber 40DIFS’s and found excessive throttle spindle wear and the gears were not messing correctly but worse still the carburetter bases and tops were also warped !
All carburetter were completely stripped and had a further inspection and I found evidence that these had recently been worked on and the gaskets etc looked quite recent…….
Once stripped the inlet manifold and all 3 carburetter were set out to engineering, the carburetter bodies had new custom busing and all faces were machined flat on a milling machine,this process not only looks amazing but more importantly everything was now flat.
Throttle spindle were refitted to check gear meshing which I was glad to say was spot on as gears are no longer available and manufacturing a set would have been expensive.
All metal parts were re- plated before rebuilding the carburetters using genuine Weber parts and assembly to factory specifications.
While I was restoring the carburetters and inlet manifoldsI figured I might as well complete the job so the throttle linkages and fuel pressure regulator got some love too, the linkages were re-plated and painted and upgraded sealed roller bearings installed, the Fispa fuel pressure regulator was also restored using genuine parts.
Once the car was up and running we found that she would cut out intermittently and after a few checks the supercar techs found that the rear fuel filter had collapsed and the electric fuel pump was failing as it was working too hard. This is and unusual set up as the car had a mechanical and electric fuel pump.
Once this was rectified I was them able to dial in the triple Webers and the car now runs like a dream.

Once we had finned with the vehicle she went off to Ferrari to have an inspection to keep its heritage registered. What a car absolutely stunning.

Pair of SU HS2’s from an MG Midget 1275
Fully restored using Genuine SU parts, including throttle bodies being re-bushed, new spindle, throttle discs, main jets, main needles, main springs, needle valves, floats, seals and gaskets and re-built to factory settings.

All metal parts were placed Gold as request by my customer, something a little different as they would normally be silver plated ……..what do you think of this colour on these ?

Weber 32/36 DGAV having our custom roller bearing conversion to the primary throttle body.
Bearings used are for the highest quality sealed bearing which can easily be replaced in the future if required.
This makes for a smooth throttle and prevents the body wearing again.

Only 30 seconds in the ultrasonic bath and this is the colour of the fresh solution. I ran these in the bath for an hour at 50 degrees

2 sets of triple SU HV2TH Completely restored using Genuine SU parts along with a few upgrades for an AC Ace, these will look amazing on the car.

These carburetters were also Stove Enamelled, a very old process and I was lucky enough to find a local company prepared to take this job on and Enamel to the highest standards.

My customers sent me 6 carburetters and his brief was to to make one good set, well as you can see I found all the missing parts and was able to complete two sets 👍

Merry Christmas everyone,it’s been one hell of a year personal and project wise, I have had some great restoration projects with some interesting problems along with what I’d call standard restoration jobs all of which I have absolutely loved doing and I’m looking forward to seeing what new challenges you will bring me next year……..

This was an interesting project
Large Zenith K5A from a Caterpillar which arrived in a terrible condition with the main Venture and a jet being damaged not to mention excessive play in the throttle and choke spindles.
Parts simply were not available for this carburetter so we custom fabricated a new venture and a jet along with re-working the throttle and choke spindle and making custom bushes alone with the needle valve and a few other components, new gaskets also had to be manufactured.

Another one saved 👌

BG213 Ethanol fuel system defender is idea to enhance modern E5 fuels improving performance and reliability and is also a fantastic fuel stabiliser to keep your fuel fresh over the winter months. Simply add a bottle allow the engine to run for a short period and park up for the winter and or add every other tankful to enhance E5 whilst maintaining your fuel system.

BG281 fuel dryer ensures you have no moisture in your fuel system allowing any moisture to be mixed and safely pass through and be burnt off whilst driving, BG have advised me that less is more with this product so I can sell this is either by the full bottle or in 25ml bottles.
