SCARY !!!

Vw Passat with failed brakes !!!

This is a very common fault with ageing vehicles with poor maintenance schedules, unfortunately excessively corroded brake lines get Missed far to often due to the fact there buried under mud and dirt which also traps moisture and speed the corrosion process up exponentially.

This fault can manifest in a few ways either with instant failure or a slow leak over time which eventually depletes the brake fluid reservoir.

This can be prevented with regular servicing and safety inspections........

DONE THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!

Day 3

And the journey ends , here is the final stage of the MOT welding repairs on the Jaguar....... it lives to rust another.

Day two

All metal work has been treated with a rust stabiliser and a weld through primer which will give it the best chance possible to prolong the inevitable.

3mm angle iron has been used to build up the strength and sill shape, progress has been slow due to cold weather effecting drying times.

Day one.

Jaguar that failed its mot on excessive corrosion on a SMALL patch on the off side floor pan.

Once the plastic side skirt has been removed and all weak metal Tapped off , the full extent of the corrosion can now be seen.
