🎉🚗 SHE’S ONLY GONE AND DONE IT! 🚗🎉

A massive congratulations to my amazing pupil Brooke on passing her driving test today! 🥳

I’m genuinely starting to think she has some sort of magnet for chaos because I don’t think we’ve had a single “normal” lesson!

Over the last few months we’ve had:
🚔 A police chase.
🚑 More blue lights than I can count.
🚗 A rear-end shunt just last week.
😳 An unconscious man at the side of the road.
🛞 A puncture.
📅 A driving test cancelled while we were literally sat in the test centre waiting...and plenty more that I’ve probably forgotten that she will be laughing about for years to come!!

So surely today would be nice and calm for her driving test?

Of course not... there were blue lights again! 🚨😂

At this point I’m convinced the emergency services have been following us around!

Joking aside, the biggest battle she had to overcome was her own nerves. She kept turning up, kept pushing herself and today she proved exactly what she’s capable of by absolutely smashing her driving test.

I couldn’t be prouder. Watching your confidence grow has been such a privilege and you’ve worked so hard to get to this moment. This pass is so well deserved.

Now go and enjoy your freedom... and here’s hoping your future journeys are a little less eventful than your driving lessons! 😂🚗

Huge congratulations to William on passing his driving test today in Basingstoke with 🎉 ZERO faults 🎉 William has worked so hard to achieve this and I couldn’t be prouder of him!! He got through the nerves and smashed it!! He has been an absolute pleasure to teach, showing up with an eagerness to learn and has taken on board every single little detail. His motto for every lesson “Just do it” and he done just that!! Be safe on the roads William and don’t forget to wave when you see me 👋🏻

❄️ Driving Safely in Snow & Ice ❄️

Winter weather can make driving far more challenging than it appears. Even when main roads look clear, hidden dangers often remain. Cold temperatures mean there can still be black ice, shaded icy patches, slush and reduced grip, especially near junctions, roundabouts, and pedestrian crossings. The longer the cold snap lasts the worse it gets.

For learner drivers, the risk is higher, particularly for those who are new or still gaining experience.
Learners are:
•Still developing clutch control, steering and braking skills.
•Less experienced at judging grip and stopping distances.
•More likely to react suddenly if the car skids or slides.
•Easily overwhelmed by poor visibility and unpredictable road conditions.

It’s also important to remember that residential roads are rarely treated or gritted. These roads can remain icy all day, even when main routes appear safe. Narrow streets, parked cars, hills, and sharp turns increase the danger, making the risk significantly higher, especially for learners.

Because of this, some driving lessons or tests may be cancelled or postponed during severe winter conditions. Please know that if your lesson or driving test has been postponed due to the weather that this is never taken lightly. Your instructor or an examiner would have driven the roads and done a risk assessment and made the decision based on that.

Driving lessons should build confidence and skills, not put learners at unnecessary risk or add to what is already a highly anxious time. And whilst i completely understand it is frustrating that your lesson or especially your test is cancelled, safety will always and must always come first.

Wishing all my pupils, past and present a very merry Christmas. I am now out of office, a day earlier than expected but thankyou all for your continued support and patience over the past few weeks. I will be returning to work on Monday 5th January and will be responding to any enquiries then. For now I am switching off to focus on things at home and spending time with my family. Enjoy the festivities and time spent with your precious families and I will see you in the new year ♥️ Merry Christmas 🎄

In wet weather, stopping distances will be at least double that required for stopping on dry roads. This is because your tyres have less grip on the road.

In wet weather:

- You should keep well back from the vehicle in front. This will increase your ability to see and plan ahead.

- If the steering becomes unresponsive, it could mean water is affecting your vehicle's grip on the road.

- Ease off the accelerator and slow down gradually.

- The rain and spray from vehicles may make it difficult to see and be seen.

- Be aware of the dangers of spilt diesel that will make the surface very slippery.

- Take extra care around pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and horse riders.

Huge congratulations to Kia on passing her driving test today 🎉🚗
This has been such a well-deserved result.
Kia hasn’t just worked hard on learning to drive, she’s put so much effort into managing her nerves, controlling her emotions and improving her focus. There have been times when she’s struggled and overthought things, but what has always stood out is her determination, resilience and willingness to give her absolute best every single lesson.
Watching her grow in both ability and confidence has been incredibly rewarding and it’s been an absolute pleasure to teach her. I will genuinely miss our lessons, but I couldn’t be prouder of her and everything she’s achieved.
Well done, Kia! Drive safe always and enjoy your new freedom! 💛🚘

🚗 A Message from one of Your Local Driving Instructors 🚗

The way driving instructors and learner drivers are being treated on the roads lately is becoming truly diabolical.

This morning, a serious road-rage incident occurred involving one of our local instructors and sadly, situations like this are becoming far too common.

We need to remember something important:
Learner drivers are learning.

They will stall, hesitate, and make mistakes. Every confident driver on the road today once had to learn too.

As instructors, we work incredibly hard to keep our pupils, ourselves, and the public safe. We teach not just how to pass a test, but safe driving for life.

But when other road users rush, tailgate, or show impatience, it puts everyone at risk. It doesn’t speed anything up, in fact it does the opposite, it causes panic, mistakes, and delays.

A little more patience and better forward planning from other drivers would make a huge difference.

There is never a need to intimidate, pressure, or force someone to rush.

⛔ Abuse towards learners or instructors will not be tolerated.

🚨 Any incidents of road traffic offences or abusive behaviour will be reported.

Let’s bring some understanding and kindness back to the roads. Let’s all do our part to keep everyone around us safe.

Remember a car is the most dangerous weapon you could ever own.

We all share the roads and together we can make them safer for everyone. ❤️
