Another PSA (peugeot/citroen/vauxhall) wet belt engine, this one....2020 plate, 48k miles, low oil pressure warning showing on dash, as you can see, oil strainer blocked solid, replacement timing belt kit, strainer cleaned out, new oil and filter (correct stylantis oil)
We're seeing a bit of a pattern in these engines, the turbo version are continuously the ones with the blocked strainer, whereas the non turbo/naturally aspirated engines, don't seem to suffer with the blocked strainer anywhere near as much.
Possibly due to engine running temps/oil deterioration.
Either way.....best practice for these engines, continue with your annual services, but half way through the year, invest in a basic engine oil and filter change between services.
In the long run, you'll reap the rewards!
Get in touch if you want your timing belt inspected/replaced, whether it be a 1.2 PSA engine or a 2.0 ecoblue (Ford transit/ranger)
