⚡️ Here we have a Mahle 1.1 motor that was sent into us for a service along with a damaged power socket.
Whilst in with us, the motor had the socket replaced and underwent a service.
This motor is now able to run as it should, has no more connection issues and is back home with our customer.

This Bosch Gen 3 motor came into us with pretty bad water ingress.
As you can see from the photos:
🔹 Heavy corrosion throughout the drivetrain components
🔹 Contaminated bearings and gearing
🔹 Water-damaged electronics and PCB corrosion
🔹 Internal components seized and deteriorated

We strongly recommend having your e-bike motor serviced annually once it is outside its original warranty period. A preventative service allows us to:
✅ Inspect seals and vulnerable areas
✅ Replace worn bearings before they fail
✅ Remove moisture and contamination before corrosion takes hold
✅ Extend the life of your motor and reduce the risk of costly repairs

This one came into the workshop with a loss of power. After running full diagnostics and stripping the motor down, the culprit was the all too common issue we see… water ingress 💧

Moisture had made its way inside the motor, contaminating components and affecting performance. After a full inspection, clean-up, repair, and rebuild, this Yamaha Giant drive unit is now running exactly as it should again 💪

A loss of power, unusual noises, or intermittent cut-outs can often point to internal water damage. Catching it early can save a motor from complete failure.

After a full strip down, we fitted a new belt, refurbished planetary gears, installed an upgraded clutch along with a full bearing service and brought the motor back to life.

👀 This Bafang Motor came into us with a serious problem… as you can see from the photos, it was full of water and contaminated grease.

Once water gets inside a motor it can quickly cause:
⚙️ Rust and corrosion on gears
⚡ Damage the electronics and sensors
🔩 Premature wear on internal components

Our Advice:
After your initial warranty period ends, book your motor in for an inspection. Annual servicing allows us to:
✔ Replace seals and grease
✔ Check for early water ingress
✔ Inspect gears and bearings
✔ Prevent major failures before they happen

A small maintenance service can extend the life of your motor and save you hundreds in repairs or replacement costs.

We’re excited to announce that we’re almost ready to launch our Upgraded External Seal Kit for Shimano EP8 motors 🚲💨

Water ingress has been one of the biggest concerns with EP8 motors, so we’ve been working behind the scenes to develop a seal kit designed to offer extra protection where it matters most.

Some of you may remember we put the call out for a few guinea pigs to put these kits through proper real world testing and the results have been brilliant. Thanks to that feedback, we’re now moving ahead with the official release.
