π₯ BMW M140i β STANDARD DYNO RESULTS π₯
This BMW M140i was in with us today for a set of rolling-road dyno runs to see exactly what the car is producing in completely standard form.
π Dyno Results:
π₯ 360 BHP
π₯ 426 FT-LB Torque
The 360 BHP result is bang on the expected factory power figure for a standard M140i, confirming the vehicle is performing exactly as it should.
The torque figure requires a little explanation. Because the vehicle still has its factory 155 MPH speed limiter active, we were unable to exceed 155 MPH during the dyno run.
For our normal testing procedure, we would run the vehicle in 6th gear, which is a 1:1 ratio. However, with the factory limiter in place, this would mean the vehicle reaching its 155 MPH limiter before the run could be completed correctly.
Therefore, the vehicle was tested in 5th gear instead. This difference in gearing can affect the calculated torque figure, which is why the 426 FT-LB reading shouldn't be taken as a direct representation of the engine's true factory torque figure.
Our dyno is more than capable of safely handling the speeds involved, but with the factory limiter restricting the vehicle to 155 MPH, the test had to be carried out in the appropriate gear.
Overall, a great result from this M140i, producing a healthy 360 BHP in standard form. πͺ
