Bit of wrestlemania in Mirfield West Yorkshire yesterday

2012 Range Rover with 10 extremely swollen nuts which had not been removed for many years. Local tyre company had tried to remove 1 as shown in first picture without success causing damage to the wheel.

Removed this and the other offenders and refitted Replacements.

Another one from one of our dealers.

Looks like a mobile tool van decided to sell them a set of locking nut removers for them to be able to get them off themselves.

The key had already snapped in the pattern, and attempts had been made to remove this prior to the tapered tool being hammered over the anti theft collar, all to no avail.
So now this is stuck down the wheel also and just spins with no way they could remove..

This happens to be the third one of these in four weeks. Surprisingly all on VW’s.

One from one of our main dealer network late on in the afternoon.

Nissan qashqai which fell to bits on them.. just the taper left and the remains had been staked the wheel with an air chisel trying to remove it.

As the stud was already damaged, we removed the remaining taper(leaving the stud intact) ready for them to replace in the morning as customer wanted car back before they closed.

One from Friday for a chap who had been trying without success to remove his locking bolt with other tools and finally decided to try a socket having also tried drilling etc

After the socket got stuck it has been chiselled within an inch of its life 🥴

One from yesterday at one of our trade customers.

Key snapped off inside bmw locking nut and then attempts were made to try and remove the bolt which resulted in a stuck impact socket jammed down the wheel and spinning.

This is a method we never recommend..

Removed socket and the damaged bolt and remaining locking bolts and then replaced with our upgraded set to prevent further problems

Well this week so far has been an interesting one for sure…

From wheels that have fallen off, from a garage soaking nuts in copper grease until the studs stretched and snapped off on the motorway for one gentleman, to over worked nuts and bolts from other garages using other tools just causing further damage and to the wheels also..

One of today’s job included an audi from kwikfit with standard bolts so tight the heads had all sheared off completely on 2 bolts leaving little left to work with…

All removed, threads re-tapped, as rust preventing the replacements going back in correctly. New oem locking set fitted with new bolts to prevent future issues…

Been an absolute barstool of a few days/weeks/months/year and feels like, well, a year since downed the tools for anything more than a couple of days 😴
Once again I apologise to folk who's jobs I've had to reschedule at short notice but that is far better than not guaranteeing your car will be ready before we close... also on that note I won't tolerate being spoke to like a piece of sugar for being honest, unfortunately I don't have a crystal ball to predict such events...
