Congratulations to Owen who, on possibly the hottest day of the year, kept his cool and passed his driving test at his first attempt at lunchtime today. Well done Owen, the heat is off now, as far as the test is concerned anyway.

DVSA issues a further warning to learner drivers not to use any third party apps to book or change their driving test, with the potential consequences being cancellation of tests and preventing candidates from using the DVSA online booking system

From 12th May 2026, swapping a driving test with another candidate is about to become a whole lot trickier for pupils, and impossible for driving instructors and online bots.

The following link explains the procedure that the DVSA is implementing, requiring both affected candidates to be available, and only via telephone, at the same time to confirm and agree to the changeover.

Gone will be the option instructors had of doing this at the click of a couple of buttons using the DVSA online booking system.

You may be able to swap your car driving test with another learner driver by phone if you both already have a test booked and want each other's test slot.
