🔧 Timing Chain Failure 🔧
This vehicle arrived as a non-runner, with the engine sounding as though it had lost compression.
Compression testing confirmed all four cylinders were within specification, with a borescope inspection also showing no internal cylinder damage.
Further investigation found the timing chain had stretched and the guides were worn, causing the chain to jump and the engine timing to go out.
We replaced the timing chain kit and guides, fitted fresh oil and an oil filter, and correctly set and verified the engine timing.
The vehicle was then tested and is now back on the road ✅
