We have been working in partnership with our sister company Cooke Mechanical Services on this 1978 Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer 712M 6x6 Austrian military truck for a very prestigious customer.

This vehicle hasn’t run correctly for over 15 years, being underpowered, backfiring, failing emission testing, running lean on 2 and rich on 2. Many have tried to fix her, but we successfully got her back to factory mode and she is now running like a Swiss watch.

We have given her a complete ignition overhaul, which sounds simple, but with these air-cooled powerhouses, it’s no easy feat, and returned her to original suppressed military ignition, twinned with refreshed carburettors and extensive ignition timing. She will now be able to go to work once again.

For this one, we have had to go round the globe to find parts from Austria, America and Scotland, trying to locate the absolute rarest of parts, and thanks to our extensive network, we did it.

This is a real milestone job for us, and we are incredibly proud of the outcome👏🏼
