VAF - 2016 WRX STI - EJ257

A few days have gone by since we released this WRX STI back into the wild.

We selected the very best bits to be used in this build to work alongside the proposed future upgrades. Once the engine was built strong, we then carefully chose the supporting bolt-on upgrades. The plan was to safely raise the power up to the first target of 450bhp without straying away too far from the factory look of the engine bay.

Neatly packaged away we successfully upgraded the all necessary parts and managed to keep the factory style whilst pushing the engine up and over the first power target. The engine also maintains over 400lbft from 3,200 RPM all the way up through the power band. This car is a fantastic drive, and an absolute rocket up through the gears!

New fuel system just finished! Equipped with Racinglines T9 series hose and fittings.

A pump lifts the fuel out of the main tank and keeps the swirl pot filled with a constant supply. The Bosch 044 pump then feeds the rails without the worry of harsh cornering and braking forces pulling the fuel away from the in tank pick-up causing pump and engine starvation. A must have for any serious fast road or track car.

What a transformation to this P1!

The entire engine bay has been meticulously restored and the bumpers, splitter and bonnet have all been resprayed after stone chips and scuffs had built up over the years.

Now that it is all back together, it looks like new!

It deeply saddens us to mark today as the first full day that our old pal Orville is no longer with us. Many of you have come to know and love Orville over the past few years and annoyingly, through no fault of it's own, Orville was involved in a tragic accident over the Christmas break and the insurance company have decided that it's a write-off.

Unfortunately this also means that we are currently without a courtesy car to offer you. We are frantically looking for a replacement and hope that in the next few weeks we will be able to offer something to you, to get you back on the road whilst your own car is with us. Though we cannot guarantee that the next one will bring you the same joy that Orville once did! 😢

It's not every day that you see a splittie. It's even rarer to see one with a turbo Subaru engine transplanted in the back.

After all the time and effort spent getting it all to work, why not take it one step further and drop a Simtek ECU with anti-lag into the mix 😏

The team over at Thwaites Developments Racing have done a banging job (pun intended) of getting this to run and sound as nice as it does!

We've just finished a major service on this stunning 22B Type-UK.

After fitting brand new genuine Subaru parts throughout to keep the original spec of this extremely rare car, we removed the inlet manifold to give it some TLC as well.

A fresh coat of high temperature wrinkle finish paint on the inlet manifold and matching paintwork on the front timing covers really brings the engine bay back to life.
