The Lismenary Motors Historic MKII Es**rt was in action on Saturday on the “GO Tour of the Sperrins Rally”, based in Magherafelt.

The event was round 4 of the McGrady Insurance Norther Ireland Championship and Jimmy and Michael were seeded at No.39 out of 110 entries. This year Jimmy was attempting to retain his title as N.I. Historic Champion and Michael was sitting in the passenger seat, on the notes.

So far this year the boys are leading class 1 and gaining good points in both the Historic and overall championship.

Saturday began slowly as stage one was cancelled due to a non rally related incident. Stage two was a very fast and bumpy stage which the team took carefully. After this stage they were in 4th place in the class and had some work to do. They continued to keep the pressure on and going into the last stage there was only 6 second separating 2nd place to fourth place. A good final stage, stage 6, saw the boys emerge victorious in that battle and finished the day 2nd in class and 31st overall on the event.

This meant full points for the championship and has been enough for Jimmy to again be crowned N.I. Historic Champion.
