🚨 UPDATE 🚨

Today I attended an appointment to see a spinal surgeon. With the results from the MRI the surgeon has stated that I require surgery on my back to remove a disc that is bulging and hitting my Sciatic nerve.
Not the news I wanted but on the other hand it's the news I needed. Hopefully this sorts my back issues out once and for all to allow me to get back on the roads....
I will be out of work for 6-8 weeks to recover from the surgery so at this stage I will not be taking on any new clients. Once im on the road to recovery I will ensure to get my diary open once again.

As part of the new Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) system in Northern Ireland, learner drivers will need to complete a structured 14-module Programme of Training before they can book their practical driving test.

📘 The 14 Learning Modules

M1 – The Driver
M2 – The Vehicle
M3 – The Law
M4 – Risk and Hazard Awareness
M5 – Controls and Checks
M6 – Driving on the Road
M7 – Road Sharing
M8 – Vulnerable and Other Road Users
M9 – Speed Awareness
M10 – Manoeuvring Your Vehicle
M11 – Driving in Adverse Weather Conditions
M12 – Night-Time Driving
M13 – Driver Distraction and In-Car Technology
M14 – Ecosafe Driving and the Environment

✅ What This Means for Learner Drivers

🖊A minimum 6-month learning period before taking the practical test.
🖊All 14 modules must be completed and recorded in a digital logbook.
🖊Modules can be signed off by an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) or supervising driver.
🖊Applies to learner drivers who enter the new system from 1 October 2026

The modules are designed to ensure learners become safe, responsible, and confident drivers, covering everything from vehicle control to hazard awareness and eco-driving.

If it hadnt been for my wife this week I wouldn't have been able to get my pupils out on their tests. On top of her own work, running after the kids and myself she volunteered to pick up my pupils and take them to their tests....forever grateful. As they say Teamwork makes the dream work ❤️
