While changing the bellows on an Alpha one, these one way exhaust water shutters were found when the exhaust below was removed, after investigation the thermostat was found seized in a partially open position. Water shutters were replaced and a new thermostat installed. At our work shop thermostat operation is one of the many standard checks we do annually on engines that come in for a service for these reasons. The heat from the exhaust had even melted the water pipe guide tube.

This fuel cell was removed from a Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI on Lake Windermere and sent to us for repair after the customer experienced lack of power and hesitation towards the end of last season. We found the unit did give out the correct fuel pressure, but reduced flow rate. On stripping the fuel cell we found both pump screens were filled with paint chips as a result of E10 fuel being used which strips the paint off of the fuel cell walls. We cleaned the system out and installed new o rings, the correct flow rate has been achieved and the unit is ready to go back to the customer. We can test and repair your fuel cells on site or at our workshop.
