It has been noted that a business posting recently in Coylton Families has a very similar name to myself. Just to avoid confusion anyone may have, this is not me and does not have any connection with myself at all. All repairs, servicing and MOT prep is carried out at my workshop in Ayr. This ensures all waste products are disposed of correctly. As many of my existing customers know, I do offer a pick up and drop off service for cars and light vans at no extra charge.

Announcement made this morning regarding MOT's.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH.

WE ARE OPEN FOR REPAIRS

cars, motorcycles and vans to be granted MoT exemption
this will allow people to carry on with essential travel
vehicles must be kept in roadworthy condition

Vehicle owners will be granted a 6-month exemption from MOT testing, enabling them to continue to travel to work where this absolutely cannot be done from home, or shop for necessities.

All cars, vans and motorcycles which usually would require an MOT test will be exempted from needing a test from 30 March 2020. Vehicles must be kept in a roadworthy condition, and garages will remain open for essential repair work. Drivers can be prosecuted if driving unsafe vehicles.

With regards to last night's announcement regarding "lockdown". At the moment garages are seen as essential work in order to keep vehicles roadworthy. We will be available for essential repairs to keep your vehicle safe and roadworthy.

In order to minimise the risk of cross infection we will be taking the following steps to keep customers safe:

DO NOT JUST DROP BY. Please contact us on 07974 917143 if your car or van requires essential repairs and we will be able to book a slot when you can come in.

We will continue to be cleaning down steering wheels etc with antiseptic wipes when it arrives and will do so again before it is handed back over.

With regards to MOT's. There has been no official advice that we are aware of at present that states that MOT's will not go ahead. If your vehicle is due an MOT then please contact us to arrange. If the situation changes, e.g a grace period is allowed we'll keep you informed.

We have been asked by a few customers concerned about MOT's etc if these will be affected by the crisis surrounding the current Corona Virus situation. There are no plans for any shutdowns that we are aware of and we are open as usual for servicing and repairs. We can also arrange booking MOT's for any customer who has one due or just wishes to book early. We also offer a free pick up and drop off service for your car (subject to availability). NHS and Emergency Services workers can also benefit from a 10% discount on servicing and repairs on production of proof.
