We've previously had this lovely mk2 Mexico in for a running issue diagnosis and eventually a new stage 1 cylinder head with Weber 44IDF rejetting and tuning... It's been back this week with a suspected diff bearing gone and a blowing exhaust.
Obviously we'd love to one day do a comprehensive restoration on such a structurally very original example. 🤞

This LHD MGB V8 Conversion came to us unfinished and requiring an MOT… it’s a nice piece of kit with a special suspension and a modified engine but it needed a few parts ordered and fitted, wiring checked, repaired and tidied up, boxes of unfitted parts fitted, steering wheel/column components made and fitted and heat shields and a couple of other parts hand fabricated.
Returned to the happy customer with a fresh MOT, so watch for it in your mirrors!

So the Mini is finally finished and ready to go back to the customer for the rest of the car to be assembled.

So an update for the little Mini... Original planned welding work was pretty much done and ready for paint... BUT... We found a some more poor repairs and a fair amount of cunningly concealed rust behind the rear subframe mounting panel, rear floors and rear seat base! So out has had to come the rear subframe, rusty metalwork is being cut away and an alignment jig has been made to keep the new sections in the right place when its all welded up.

Another Mini with that same old menace… This is a fairly original Mk1 Austin 850, but the past ’repairs’ consisted of more filler and fibreglass than replacement metal. Updates to follow, so watch this space.

So the little welding job on the mini pickup turned into cutting out all the rust and old repairs and custom fabricating a new shaped panel before fitting the customer supplied sill panel. Now just waiting for some new brake parts before it goes back to the customer.

A nice little Mini pickup in this week for some welding and a bit of a tidy up as well as some other little jobs… decided the best way to repair the sill is to cut out all the rot and previous untidy repairs and fabricate new repair sections… if a jobs worth doing! 🤦🏼‍♂️…
