Auto Torque is proud to present this immaculate 1999 Subaru Impreza 22B finished in Sonic Blue, and 1 of only 16 for the UK market. This car comes from a long-term client of ours, and we have carried out a lot of the maintenance on this particular vehicle.
The 1999 Subaru Impreza 22B was produced by Subaru to mark both their World Rally Championship success and the company’s 40th anniversary. It was based on the Impreza WRX STI of the time but featured a number of key differences, including a factory widebody, upgraded suspension, and a 2.2 litre EJ22 engine rather than the standard 2.0 litre unit. Power output was officially quoted at 276 bhp in line with the gentleman’s agreement in Japan, although real figures are generally understood to be higher. Production was limited, with 400 cars built for the Japanese market, along with only 16 made for the UK market (of which this is one), and a very small number of additional units for export. All examples were sold in a very short period of time.
This particular example has only covered 23,514 miles in its 27-year life. This low mileage is evident in the condition of the car inside, outside, and underneath. The Sonic Blue paintwork is spotless, with no marks found on the bodywork, and the panels present as they should with no signs of damage or repair. The underside is equally clean and well preserved, reflecting the level of care the car has received over time. This stunning 22B has benefitted from an underside deep clean and black wax, along with the wheel arches receiving the same treatment. We have previously also carried out a full cavity wax on the car. Accompanying the vehicle is a comprehensive service history, with a full folder of documentation that includes even minor invoices, giving a clear record of maintenance and upkeep throughout its life.
