A post I never thought I’d have to write 😞🏁

Unfortunately, Freddie will be taking a break from karting for now due to financial constraints, and as a result we’ll be withdrawing from the remainder of the British Kart Championship season.

The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult trying to make things work, but sadly I’ve reached the point where it’s just no longer sustainable at the level Freddie has worked so hard to reach.

As a single mum, funding motorsport has never been easy, but watching Freddie progress from local racing to competing at the front of national championships has made every sacrifice worth it. From those early arrive-and-drive days to seeing him come off pole in the British Championship Final at Round 1 — it’s been an unbelievable journey ❤️

What makes this so hard is how much Freddie loves racing. Anyone who knows him knows karting is his whole world. He talks about it every hour of every day, studies races constantly, lives on the simulator, and gives absolutely everything whenever he puts his helmet on.

As his mum, I’m heartbroken for him. But sometimes life just doesn’t go the way we hope, no matter how hard you fight.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Freddie along the way — whether through sponsorship, advice, encouragement, sharing posts, helping at the track, or simply believing in him. It has genuinely meant more than you’ll ever know.

Best of luck to everyone racing this weekend 🏁
Freddie will definitely be watching from home ❤️

Champions of the Future Academy
PFI | Day 2 🏁

A much better day for Freddie 👊

After a really difficult start to the weekend, he finally began to find the pace and looked far more like himself on track. Considering the level of competition, the lack of practising, a completely new package and stepping up an age group, we’re proud of the progress made.

Qualifying: P19
Heat 1: P19
Unfortunately Freddie was sent over the grass at the start which meant we never really got going.
Heat 2: P16
A much stronger drive with some really positive racing.

Final: P15
Freddie had worked his way up to P11 before contact from behind into a corner stopped his progress. Frustrating, but all part of learning at this level.

Was it difficult? Absolutely.
Did we keep pushing forward? Also absolutely ❤️

This weekend was about experience, learning and adapting — and by the end of it, Freddie had shown exactly why we came.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped and supported us through what was honestly quite a stressful weekend. It meant a lot.

As a parent, one of the proudest moments wasn’t even the racing. So many marshals, circuit staff and championship staff came over to tell me how polite, chatty and positive Freddie had been all weekend, and how much he’d cheered people up. That means more to me than any trophy ❤️

And the icing on the cake? Freddie got to wave the chequered flag for the final final of the day — he was absolutely ecstatic! Huge thank you to Dan for making that happen 🏁

Champions of the Future Academy
PFI | 16th–17th May 🏁

A completely new challenge for Freddie this weekend.

New class. New engine. New chassis. Racing against some of the best young drivers in the world — and in an age group above where he should currently be competing.

Truthfully, yesterday was a difficult one for us and a bit of a rude awakening. We missed Round 1 due to Freddie’s arthritis flare-up, then also missed Friday practice, meaning we went straight into racing with very limited running. Against this level of competition, that’s always going to make things tough.

The results weren’t where we wanted them to be, and Freddie was disappointed — but that’s racing. Sometimes the hard weekends teach you more than the easy ones.

What matters most is that he still wants more. He’s already focused on improving, learning and going again today 👊

This journey was never going to be easy, but we keep pushing forward ❤️🏁

P3 in the British Kart Championship after Round 1 🏁

A really positive start to the season at Warden Law in the Motorsport UK British Kart Championships.

After struggling badly in practice and almost packing up early, Freddie turned it around when it mattered — qualifying P4, securing strong heat results, a P2 in the Super Heat and starting the Final from pole position 👊

The final didn’t quite go to plan after a penalty dropped him back, but the pace was there all weekend and he leaves Round 1 sitting just ONE point off the championship lead 😮‍💨🔥

To see Freddie featured in the official Motorsport UK championship write-up is a proud moment and a reminder of how far he’s come ❤️

Huge thanks to everyone supporting his journey — onwards to Round 2 🏁

British Kart Championship – Round 1 🏆
Warden Law
9th – 11th April 📆

A weekend that didn’t start how we wanted, but ended with strong points on the board and a solid championship position 👊🏼

Thursday Practice:
Less said the better… miles off the pace and no real understanding why. Starting to feel like a bit of a pattern 👀

Friday Practice:
Another tough session. Still outside the top 10 and, if we’re honest, a real concern heading into qualifying. We even considered packing up and going home.

Qualifying:
A big turnaround when it mattered 💥 Freddie delivered and put it P4 - on the outside which wasn’t ideal — but we knew we could race from there.

Heat 1:
P4 🟰 P4
A solid, controlled drive running in the front group. No complaints — a strong start to the heats.

Heat 2:
P1 🟰 P2
Showed great pace and led early on. After some close battling crossed the line P4, which became P2 after penalties. Another strong result.

Saturday – Superheat:
P2 🟰 P2
A really mature drive. No need to overdo it — just did exactly what was needed to secure pole position for the final.

Final:
P1 🟰 P4 (OTR)
A frustrating one to finish. The pace was there ✔️ but a small mistake resulted in a 5-second penalty, dropping us back to P4. Disappointing, but still a solid points haul.

We now leave Round 1 sitting P3 in the Championship, with just 1 point covering the top 4 — it’s going to be a close season 👀

Well done Freddie 👏🏼 we go again 💪🏁

The biggest thank you to:
for the immense waft, coaching and setup 💥
on the tools 🔧

UKC Round 1 – Whilton Mill 🏁
3rd – 5th April 2026 📆

A weekend that didn’t quite come together as we’d hoped, but still plenty to take away as we move forward.

Friday Practice:
Aside from a slightly rusty first session, Freddie showed strong pace throughout the day, consistently sitting in the top 4 and proving we were right in the mix.

Saturday Practice:
Another slow start (becoming a bit of a theme 🤣), but we knew the pace was there heading into qualifying.

Qualifying:
P4 — a solid position and a good place to build from.

Heat 1:
P4 ➡️ P5
A decent drive with strong pace, setting purple sector 1.

Heat 2:
P4 ➡️ P5
Another steady race. Freddie drove well but just couldn’t quite get himself into the position he wanted.

Superheat:
P4 ➡️ P9
A frustrating one — a penalty for a slight tap dropped him down the order.

Final:
Finished P6
A real mix of emotions. Freddie drove brilliantly up to P2, showing exactly what he’s capable of, but after a couple of hits from other karts, lost momentum and couldn’t quite recover, crossing the line in P6.

Not the result we were aiming for, but the pace is there and there are plenty of positives to take.

We go again 💪🏁

UKC Winter Trophy – Whilton Mill 🏆
27th February – 1st March 📆

A weekend of elation and devastation, if we’re honest, but one that proves how far we’ve come. Freddie showed true grit and determination. The final result doesn’t reflect what happened on track, but we move forward.

Practice:
Friday started badly. We were nowhere near the sharp end for the first three sessions and couldn’t explain it (no bent kart this week 🤪).

New tyres for Session 4 changed everything — fastest on track. Session 5, P2. Relief.

Saturday morning wasn’t convincing either.

Qualifying:
Freddie delivered when it counted — calm, focused and clinical. POLE POSITION 💥

Heat 1:
P1 ➡️ P2.
Strong, controlled drive. Good points.

Heat 2:
P1 ➡️ P1 + Fastest Lap 🔥
Forced wide on the last lap by another driver, but he kept his composure, drove back through and reclaimed P1. Outstanding maturity.

Superheat:
P1 ➡️ P2.
Another excellent drive secured pole for the Final. He knew what he had to do.

Final:
P1 ➡️ DNF 😳

Tyre choice was a gamble with unpredictable weather. For 11 of 12 minutes Freddie led with a gap — calm, controlled and faultless.

On the final lap, the rain came 😢 Into the double left he fought to keep it on track but slid into the barriers. A red flag followed for another incident. Normally results roll back a lap — timing showed Freddie P1 🥇

A regulation was then applied and four karts were classified DNF, Freddie included.

We respect the rules, even when they’re hard to take.

But what disappointed me most? Hearing adults cheer when a 9-year-old hit the barrier so their driver could win. That’s not sport. That’s not what this is about. He’s a child.

Freddie will never grow up to be someone who laughs at another child’s misfortune — and that means more than any trophy.

Phenomenal job by the team. We’re proud and we keep going 👏🏼🏁
