Here is a very good example of how important oil changes can be. This pump is lubricated by the engine sump oil. When it is not changed as per Yanmar service times or is a poor oil standard this can happen.
In this case the camshaft seized in the plain front bush and then damaged the pump housing. This motion also damaged the lift pump drive teeth.

Happy new year :-) Our first 2018 post is not about Yanmar but is a new page and soon a website run by us the engineers that are "Yanmar Diesel Pumps"
We have many people asking us for older obsolete pumps and injectors and so we have collected around 300 pump types and around 1000 injectors at the moment.
Each unit is tested to the original test data and only released if all tests are passed.

Its always nice to read feedback from customers. Today we received this email.

In the middle of August you were very helpful in resolving an injector pump problem that we had whilst sailing in Sweden. I am happy to say that one month after leaving the boat yard, and 1000 sea miles under the keel, we and our boat arrived safely back in Eastbourne last Sunday.

Late last week we received a SOS call from a boat owner who was marooned in Sweden as he was unable to use the engine. No other Yanmar agent around Europe could help so the pump was brought from Sweden to our workshop in the UK. Due to fuel contamination the pumping elements had seized. We stripped the pump out, cleaned all the parts, fitted genuine Yanmar new parts as required, reassembled and tested to OE specifications. The pump was shipped back out to Sweden for the owner to refit and once again get sailing all in less than 4 days.

Being that its summer in the UK its raining and windy?
None of it stops the servicing of the Yanmar TNV Eco pumps. These are superbly engineered pumps but like a sports car require good fuel.
Here chief engineer Rick is in the final test stages before uploading the test bench readings to the Yanmar website and re-flash coding the ECU with the fuelling data.

When the customer requires his Yanmar injector ASAP this is the quickest way to get the nozzle to the engineer (who was also a very good wicket keeper) :-)
