We've been back out on the road today, delivering more used tyres to local schools and outdoor learning spaces to give them a new lease of life!

Today's deliveries included:

Albany Infant & Nursery School – Stapleford

Dunkirk Primary School – Nottingham

Carnarvon Primary School – Bingham

Longdale Lodge Outdoor Learning – Ravenshead

Rather than being thrown away, these tyres will be put to good use in outdoor play areas, helping children get creative, explore and enjoy the outdoors.

It's great to see something that would otherwise go to waste being used in such a positive way.

🚘 MOT RULE CHANGE – LED HEADLIGHTS

From today (14th October), some LED replacement headlight bulbs can now pass an MOT under new DVSA rules.

Previously, fitting LED bulbs into halogen headlights would have resulted in a failure.

There are a few conditions, though:

✅ Bulbs must be ECE approved.
✅ Headlight units must be compatible.
✅ A valid approval sticker must be permanently attached to the vehicle.

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder of just how important it is to look after our mental health and support those around us 💛

Live fuel prices are now on Google Maps ⛽

Since Thursday, searching “petrol station” in Google Maps shows the pump price under nearly every forecourt in the UK, including right across Nottingham.

It is part of the government’s new Fuel Finder scheme. Forecourts now have to report any price change within 30 minutes, and the government reckons comparing before you fill up saves a typical household about £40 a year.

If you're trying to cut your fuel bill, the car matters as much as the forecourt, here's a few handy tips:

🟦 Tyre pressures matter, make sure they're correct, they cost you on fuel

🟦 Empty your boot! Still carrying round that camping gear from summer? It all makes a difference.

🟦 Hit a pothole lately? If the steering pulls to one side your alignment is probably out, and misaligned wheels drag the tyres along rather than roll them. Costs you fuel and tyres.
