It was quite the show last night down the harbour, watching the first Aurora Borealis of the season dancing above the harbour piers. After a season photographing fast paced Puffins zooming through the skies from our boats it was a little tricky to remember some night time settings for photography.
Northumberland can get brilliant aurora displays โ€” but only during strong geomagnetic storms, and best seen with dark clear skies facing north.

Last night we conducted our annual training exercise with RNLI - Amble Lifeboat Station. Where various staged causalities across our boats were medically assessed and stabilised ready to be safely evacuated.
Superb work by the fine team of volunteers at the RNLI with a valuable exercise for ourselves and the lifeboat crews dealing with the scenarios.
