Another job completed recently, the customer complained of a noise from the brakes, once we investigated the fault we found that not only were the pads poorly fitted but also that the pads fitted were the incorrect type, as can be seen from the wear on the pad in the pictures...

These are the rear brakes from an Aygo which was completed last weekend, the customer complained of a dragging feeling and that the car wouldnt drive. After travelling to them, it became clear quickly that there was a fairly serious issue as the drivers side rear wheel was completely locked. The car was made mobile and brought to me once the parts had arrived, as you can see the rear shoe lining has completely come away from the shoes which in turn were causing the drum to lock up; after some time with myself the rear brakes were completely replaced and working as they should.

People often forget about rear drum brakes as there is no 'quick' way to check their condition, this causes them to be worn dangerously low by the time they get any attention, When they go wrong you could be left without a car and with a nice bill, its better to get them checked!

Been out to a gorgeous 11 plate Mazda 3 tonight, customer reported a rattling when running and their suspicions of a broken heat shield were confirmed once I got under the car. Got it secured and back to how it should sound in no time, ready for it to be sold on to the next lucky owner. :) not very often that you have the pleasure of working under cover but it was well appreciated once the hail came along!

Whilst off roading, the bolts on this half shaft came loose which caused two to snap off in the hub. The bolts were drilled out and replaced with new oem fixings and the diff oil replaced as water had leaked into the axle and the oil emulsified.
