The owner of this brand new Ford Puma wanted to protect it properly from day one, and that’s exactly what we set out to do.

Despite being brand new, the vehicle had already picked up its fair share of marks and bonded contamination through transportation, storage and the dealership handover. Anyone familiar with the motor trade will know that “brand new” doesn’t always mean perfect.

This was a three day, labour intensive job, making it difficult to capture every stage, but we managed to get plenty of the process along the way.

The Puma received a full exterior clean and decontamination before the paintwork was given a minor machine polish. This removed a number of light marks and imperfections while giving us the cleanest possible surface for the ceramic coating.

We then applied a three year ceramic coating to the paintwork, with the wheels removed so we could coat both the front and rear faces for maximum protection.

The glass was also fully decontaminated before receiving its own coating, helping improve visibility in wet weather and making the glass easier to maintain.

The result is a brand new Ford Puma now wearing a seriously strong layer of protection, designed to fight against the elements while providing self cleaning properties, easier maintenance and helping the vehicle stay cleaner for longer.

Are you thinking about getting your vehicles underside protected? Don't make the same mistake Clive did.

This is Clive’s Vauxhall Insignia, which came to us for our underbody package with some added extras after he decided to keep the vehicle rather than upgrading.

What Clive didn’t quite realise was just how far we go with this type of work, until we sent him the video of the process before he came to collect the car.

When he arrived, he was genuinely blown away to see just how much of the vehicle we had stripped down to access the areas that are so often overlooked.

All of the undertrays and wheel arch liners were removed, allowing us to properly clean and prepare the areas underneath before any protection was applied.

Before moving down here, Clive had previously paid £200 elsewhere to have this work carried out on his other vehicle. For context, that was around half the price of our equivalent package, and there’s good reason for the difference.

The underside was given a quick spray over with Lanoguard - Underbody Rust Protection, with no real cleaning or preparation, and even the plastic arch liners were coated in the process.

That isn’t how we approach underbody protection. Or any package at all for that matter

Clive previously lived on a farm, so the underside of the Insignia had taken an absolute beating over the years. We carried out an extensive deep clean throughout the underside, removing years of accumulated dirt, mud and grime from the areas that could be accessed.

Once thoroughly cleaned and dried, the vehicle was lifted into the air and we applied two layers of Lanoguard underbody protection across all areas, with Lanoguard Moto Grease applied to the nuts, bolts and other areas requiring additional protection.

The difference isn’t simply in the product being applied. It’s in the preparation, the access, the time spent and the areas that are actually being treated.

While the vehicle was with us, we also cleaned throughout the engine bay, removing years of built-up dust and grime to leave everything looking considerably fresher.

The interior received a full valet too, bringing the whole vehicle back up to the standard we wanted before it left us.

And finally, whilst the Insignia was already in the air, we gave the brake calipers a fresh silver finish to complete the transformation.

This is exactly why we take the time to show our customers the process. The finished vehicle is only part of the job. It’s everything that happens underneath, behind and around the vehicle that makes the difference.

A quick booking update from AA Valet & Detail.

Firstly, a huge thank you to the customers who got in touch at short notice and filled our cancellations today. It genuinely makes a difference and we really appreciate it.

We are now fully booked through to the last week of October, and with the business continuing to grow, we’re making a small change to our booking policy from November onwards.

All new bookings will require a non refundable deposit to secure the appointment, with the exception of regular maintenance bookings.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, we ask for a minimum of 72 hours notice. Where less than 72 hours notice is given, the original deposit will be retained and a new deposit will be required to secure another appointment.

Of course, we understand that sometimes things happen which are completely outside of your control. If weather conditions mean that your vehicle cannot be worked on or to our usual standard, the deposit will not be affected and we will simply rearrange the appointment.

The reason behind this change is straightforward. As we’ve become busier, last minute cancellations have a much bigger impact on the business. We’ve had a number of occasions this year where appointments have been cancelled with very little notice, leaving us with a space that we simply cannot fill.

I’m usually out of the house from the moment I wake up, working through the day with only the time between appointments to catch my breath. When I get home, that time is important to me and my family, so constantly having to spend evenings trying to fill last minute cancellations isn’t sustainable.

This isn’t aimed at any particular customer, and we completely appreciate that genuine circumstances do arise. It’s simply something we need to put in place as the business continues to get busier and appointment availability becomes more limited.

This Audi A3 came to us for a complete seats out interior deep clean, allowing us to get into the areas that are usually hidden and untouched.

With the seats removed, we had full access to years of built up dirt beneath and around the seating area. The carpets and mats were thoroughly deep cleaned, tackling stains, embedded dirt and everything that had accumulated over time.

The leather seats were carefully cleaned and brought completely back to life before being treated with a quality leather conditioner and protector to help keep them looking and feeling their best.

Every plastic surface, trim piece and centre console area was meticulously cleaned using a specialised interior detailer, leaving behind a fresh, clean appearance with a natural matte finish rather than an artificial shine.

To finish everything off, the interior was fully deodorised, leaving the cabin smelling as clean and fresh as it now feels.

The result is a completely transformed interior, not just cleaned where you can see, but thoroughly detailed where you normally can’t.

This Land Rover Discovery arrived with a paintwork story that was far from what the customer had been promised.

Bought only around a month earlier, the garage had agreed to machine polish the vehicle to remove the horrendous swirls, scratches, marring, bush rash and holograms. Unfortunately, it was returned to the customer with even more holograms, polish residue throughout the gaps and crevices, and polish marks across the plastic trims.

We were brought in to put it right.

The entire passenger side received a full two stage machine polish to tackle the deeper defects and refine the heavy holograms, while the rest of the vehicle received a single stage machine polish.

Finished with a ceramic infused spray wax, leaving the Discovery looking considerably sharper, cleaner and properly protected.
