Pumabuild is a family run business based in the West Midlands. Who have built some high performance Ford's since 1998 when we open our doors. We deal in sporty coupe such as Puma's, FRP, Focus RS's, Focus ST's and Fiesta ST's. We also have done many project cars which have been featured in many Ford magazines.

Had Focus ST in with a missfire and loss of compression on Cylinder 1 and 2.
Thought it would be the usual cracked pistons so started to pull it apart.
When I removed the rocker cover I noticed a few heat stickers and could see it had been rebuilt,
I noticed the exhaust came had a grove in it and told the customer he would need a new cam.
Two pistons were cracked so I installed forged internals and began to rebuild the engine.
When I came to install the high Pressure fuel pump I had lost the bucket….. well I couldn’t find it it then hit me the last guy that built it never installed a bucket 🥴
The high pressure fuel pump had been riding on the cam lobe 🫣
This will result in about 5mm less of lift on the fuel pump and stands a chance the fuel pressure would not have hit desired pressure.

• Front Cradle Mounting Bushes (I removed the washers the last mechanic had left there trying to stop the knocking)
