Since its introduction in 2021, BS AU 145e has been the current British Standard for number plates in the UK. Every compliant plate carries the BSAU145e mark on the bottom right-hand corner, certifying it meets the legal requirements set out by the DVLA.

Key features of BS AU 145e include:
🔹 Minimum 7mm gap between registration digits and other marks
🔹 Outlet artwork restricted to one non-reflective colour, 3–10mm high
🔹 Borders no thicker than 5mm, set at least 10mm away from registration digits
🔹 Stricter durability and visibility tests to ensure plates perform over time
