Steve Polley scored a victory on his debut in Class C of the PBS Brakes Hot Hatch Championship.

The longtime 750MC member, who last raced in the championship in 2024, won the opening race in class at Oulton Park in a BMW E36 Compact.

The boss man’s on his hols!

‘No race track this week while on holiday in Cyprus, so I decided to try another sport that demands precision, concentration and consistency—clay pigeon shooting.

It reminded me that many of motorsport’s greatest drivers have enjoyed shooting sports alongside their racing careers. Sir Jackie Stewart, Valtteri Bottas, rally legends Juha Kankkunen and Sébastien Loeb, along with NASCAR champion Richard Childress, have all been associated with shooting or hunting activities away from the circuit.

It’s easy to see why. Both motorsport and clay shooting demand razor-sharp focus, lightning-fast reactions, discipline, smooth technique and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Success in either sport isn’t about luck—it’s about preparation, precision and consistency.

Whether you’re aiming for the perfect apex or tracking a fast-moving clay, the same mindset applies: stay focused, trust your instincts and execute with confidence.

No racing this week—but it was great to challenge myself in a different way and enjoy a sport built on the same principles of accuracy and control.’
