“We went on a two hour wildlife cruise. Andy was a superb guide, with in-depth knowledge of the wildlife, as well as the geology and the history of the local area. We saw a sea eagle in a tree, a porpoise right next to the boat, red deer on the shore, shags drying their wings, a lazy seal colony and a couple of wild goats. Highly recommended”

Loch Sunart is increasingly becoming a popular location for dive clubs from across the UK, for pleasure, training and scientific exploration. Southport BASC are becoming regulars, with a small group recently completing their third expedition to the Loch. Based at Laga Lodge, which they describe as an ‘excellent base’, the group enjoyed an exhilarating mix of wreck and reef diving, plus time-out visiting some of the local sights.

We’re one of the few places on and around the Ardnamurchan Peninsula where scuba divers can find a reliable source of dive air. We have a quality-certified high performance compressor system, capable of recharging cylinders in minutes, plus a fully fitted workshop for urgent repairs.
Completing the package for divers we also have a large drying room, self-catering accommodation, pontoons and moorings, and a charter hard-boat with experienced skipper who can guide you the best dive locations in the area.

With Loch Sunart on the doorstep and the Sound of Mull and Inner Hebrides within reach, Laga Bay makes an ideal base for exploring some of the west coast’s fascinating underwater landscapes.

Our 38ft Aquastar, Laurenca II, is available for dive charters with experienced skipper Andy Jackson, who has extensive knowledge of local dive sites and conditions.

Back on shore, we can also provide on-site compressed air, private pontoons and moorings, drying and workshop facilities and self-catering accommodation for small groups.

Meet Laurenca II.

Our 38ft Aquastar cruiser is the boat at the heart of Ardnamurchan Charters, taking guests out from Laga Bay to explore Loch Sunart, Loch Teacuis, the Sound of Mull and beyond.

With space for up to 12 guests, she’s equally at home carrying wildlife watchers in search of eagles, otters and dolphins or taking divers out to explore beneath the surface.

And four-legged wildlife watchers don't have to stay behind…well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard at no extra charge.

A day out in Tobermory starts long before we reach the harbour!

Our Tobermory cruise leaves Laga Bay and takes you through some of the spectacular coastal scenery and wildlife habitats of Loch Sunart and the Sound of Mull.

Along the way, we’ll be watching for seals, otters, porpoises, dolphins and eagles before arriving in Tobermory, where you’ll have time ashore to explore, have lunch and enjoy one of Scotland’s most distinctive harbour towns.

Then it’s back aboard Laurenca II for the return journey, and another chance to see what wildlife we can find along the way.
