🔧 Top Tip Tuesday: Don’t Ignore Your DPF Warning Light!
We’ve had quite a few vehicles in recently with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issues, so we thought we’d share a quick tip that could save you a costly repair.
🚗 If you drive a diesel, don’t ignore your DPF warning light.
The warning light is your vehicle’s way of telling you the DPF is becoming blocked. If it’s ignored, the blockage can get worse, leading to:
❌ Reduced engine performance
❌ Your car going into “limp mode”
❌ More expensive repairs or even DPF replacement
One of the best ways to help prevent DPF problems is to give your diesel a good run every couple of weeks. A 20–30 minute drive at a steady speed (such as on a dual carriageway or motorway) allows the DPF to regenerate and burn off built-up soot.
✅ Keep up with regular servicing.
✅ Don’t ignore warning lights.
✅ Get any concerns checked sooner rather than later.
If you’ve noticed a DPF warning light, loss of power or your vehicle isn’t driving as it should, get in touch. Catching the issue early could save you time, money and a bigger repair bill down the line.
