Good morning everyone,

I have a number of spaces opening due to my recent test successes.

Firstly, it's important to read what I am offering to avoid any confusion and to avoid wasting anyone's time.

I am looking for learners that can commit to the time slots offered, If you can do one week and not the next then unfortunately these diary spaces are not suitable for your needs as commitment is an absolute must.

Usual collection point is Aberystwyth Football Club but other local collection points can be discussed but no further than Aber/Penparcau/Llanbdarn/Waun Fawr.

⚠️ If you have a test booked, Please make me aware as your test date needs to be realistic in line with the time available before hand.

Time slots that are being offered are:

▫️Tuesday 4th August: Taken.

▪️Wednesday 5th August: 8:00am (2 hours) or 10:30am (2 hour) followed by permanent switch to either 8am (1 hour) or 9:15am (1 hour) the week after.

Price Structure: Lessons are £42 an hour or £315 for 8 hours (£21 saving).

Hands up, if you have a car mad driving instructor?

Cars are not just my job, they are a massive part of my life so after a big week with 3 passes I should be re-filling my diary, but today instead I am at Boxengasse’s, Megaphonic’s car show in Bicester looking at some of the most beautiful Porsche road and race cars currently living in the UK!

If you are waiting for a reply, I will ping one over as soon as I get 5 and if I have any spaces remaining for next week onwards I will make a post for tomorrow morning :-)

Get in Lily, what an absolutely amazing result yesterday!

We've had some right laughs along the way but importantly when things got tough and others would have let the negativity win, Lily got her head back in the game and went for the win 🏆

I can honestly say her parents and family deserve to be proud of this girl, I know i am! 🙌🏼

Congratulations Tyler on passing your driving test on the first attempt 🙌🏼

Tyler came to me with some great ability but needed guiding in the right direction to get that pass certificate in his hand.

He stuck with the process, ticked the boxes, learned to be a safe driver and to importantly manage his head in a way that he could deal with day to day driving which lead today he got the result he deserved.

Seriously proud moment and thank you to you and Mom for the presents ❤️

Nothing was going to dampen Owain’s mood this morning, It was a proper shock to the system as it’s been ages since we last used the wipers and had standing water on a lesson but the rain had to fall on his test day didn’t it?

After a chat about greasy roads, standing water and stopping distances. Owain got on with things and came back with a first time pass with only 2 driver faults.

What a great performance from a superb learner!!!

As instructors we all use visual aids, these books are vital tools however they are always generic and I have always fancied doing my own. Bespoke, about Aber and exclusive for my learners.

The work has started and at some point in the future it will be ready to roll out for all my learners.

My new mats for the learner car have definitely raised a few smiles this week.

Unfortunately, I doubt they will last more than 12 months but they’re certainly a talking point!

Brooke came to me having already passed her test in an Automatic nearly 2 years ago.

She had passed in a city, where traffic dictated speed and progress, little to no rural roads and like anyone she had her bad habits but she wanted to have a manual licence as she dreamed of owning a particular car which was manual.

We ticked off all of above, gave her a much greater understanding of driving than her previous instructor who had clearly just taught her pass rather than be an actual driver.

Which lead her today, Where she passed her driving test for the second time with only 2 minors and much safer and improved driving style.

Proud of this girl and how she has embraced a much better driving style and can now drive her soft top during the rest of the summer 🙌🏼🔥

Don’t put drugs in the driving seat.

👮🏻The Law 🚔

There is a zero-tolerance approach to drug driving in England, Scotland and Wales which means that even small amounts of drugs in someone’s system can lead to prosecution. The limits are set very low and at a level to rule out accidental exposure (i.e. passive smoking), so even if the feeling of taking drugs has worn off, it can still be illegal to drive for a significant time afterwards.

There are also limits for driving on legal drugs such as prescription medicines. It is an offence to drive if these impair your driving in any way, so always talk to your doctor about whether it is safe to drive.

The penalties ⚠️

The police frequently carry out roadside drug tests. If you are caught and convicted of drug-driving, you could face:

▪️a minimum 12-month driving ban
▫️a criminal record
▪️an unlimited fine
▫️time in prison
▪️an endorsement on your driving licence for 11 years
▫️The maximum penalty for causing death by careless driving when under the influence of drugs is life in prison, with a minimum driving ban of five years.

The Consequences 👩‍⚖️👮🏻‍♂️

The consequences of a drug driving conviction are far reaching and can include:

▪️losing your job and potential issues with future employers
▫️losing your independence
▪️the shame of having a criminal record
▫️increase in car insurance costs
▪️trouble getting into countries like the USA
▫️The impact of drug driving extends beyond you – it can affect other people, your family, your friends. You risk injuring yourself and others, or worse.

Make a plan, Skip the risk

Most drivers don’t drive after taking drugs, because they know what’s at stake. If you’ve taken anything and are thinking about getting behind the wheel – stop and THINK! It may seem like one small choice, but it could have big consequences.

▪️Crash at a mate’s
▫️Book a cab
▪️Use a ride share or designated driver app
▫️Hand over your keys – to a trusted friend, or ▪️leave the car behind
▫️Stay sharp. Stay safe. Stay off the road if you’re on drugs.
