All of us at Tyreservices Aberdeen, were deeply saddened at the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and I know that all of the tyre industry around the world will share these feelings.

For all of us, Queen Elizabeth has remained a reassuring constant throughout our lives since the day she ascended to the throne on 6 February 1952, and the sense of loss as a nation is profound. As the longest-reigning monarch in British history, Her Majesty has been committed to the service of our country and the commonwealth, endlessly demonstrating an overwhelming sense of duty and dedication.

With news over the weekend of Her Majesty's funeral taking place on Monday 19 September 2022, Tyreservices Aberdeen will be closing our depot for the day so we can pay our respects while remembering our Queen.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday 20 September 2022

Tyreservices Aberdeen is open for business as usual for the time being. Given the critical support provided to keep key workers moving, garages are exempt from the business closure order. They need to be open for NHS staff, teachers, care workers, delivery drivers and all the other key workers that we’re relying on in this crisis.

From today and to support social distancing we will be operating a one-in-one-out policy for those customers that have no choice but to visit our branch, with customers being asked to queue two metres apart while outside the building. Our reception might not be manned to the same level so please accept our apologies if service is slower than normal.

As a reminder, we are still doing regular cleaning of our vans, branch and retail spaces, wearing latex gloves to serve customers and while on delivery routes, and making hand gels and soaps available to all our teams, in line with government guidelines.

However, if you would prefer not to come into reception to hand over your keys when dropping off your car that’s not a problem. Please just put them through the letterbox and attach a note with your name, number and what work needs done. We will sanitise your keys and the areas of the cars we work on both before and after we carry out the repairs.

We can then call you once the work is complete and you can pay with your card over the phone. We will speak to you about how to get your keys when we call you. If you have any queries whatsoever, please don’t hesitate to ask.

But if you’re not a key worker or a garage customer supporting them, then please respect the government’s guidance and stay at home.

We are working closely with our suppliers to ensure we can maintain good availability across all products.

To date, we haven’t experienced any issues with stock availability because of the outbreak and are well-prepared to mitigate against any potential impact.

The safety of our people, customers and communities is our primary concern. Together, we can help keep key workers moving by following this guidance. We’re keeping our processes under constant review and will update them if necessary.
