436BHP in a Polo GTI… Now that’s what we call a pocket rocket! 😈💨

It’s all systems go here at Ignite, with plenty of exciting builds, performance upgrades and tuning projects keeping us busy! 🔧

Next up, we had this stunning, low-mileage 2017 VW Polo GTI 6C, with just 29,000 miles on the clock, joining us for the full Ignite Stage 3 treatment! 💪🏾

The mission? Transform this already capable little hot hatch into something seriously savage, utilising our Garrett Powermax 1 turbo package, complemented by Ecotune’s Stage 3 ECU Reflex calibration📈🔥

As with every performance build we carry out, the first step was our comprehensive pre-tuning health inspection. With everything checking out, we got straight to work installing the required Stage 3 hardware before moving on to the exciting part — calibration and dyno testing! 😎

💜🔥 STAGE 1 BMW M240i G42 xDRIVE – THUNDERNIGHT METALLIC 🔥💜

What a way to round off another busy week at Ignite Performance! 😍🔥

We recently welcomed Jamie and his absolutely stunning 2023 BMW G42 M240i xDrive, finished in the incredible Thundernight Metallic, for a combination of performance upgrades and some much-needed extra soundtrack! 😈

Having recently purchased his new pride and joy with just 15,000 miles on the clock, Jamie was keen to unlock some additional performance from the mighty B58 platform while giving it the exhaust note it deserves.

Jamie had been following our socials for some time, patiently waiting for us to offer in-house ECU unlocking for the BMW G-Series platform, allowing him to take full advantage of Ecotune’s latest ECU and TCU calibrations. 📈

With everything now available, it was time to give this M240i the full Ignite treatment! 😎

We carried the following below⬇️

💻 In-House ECU Bench Unlock

Following our initial checks, we got straight to work installing the Milltek exhaust system before removing the ECU for our in-house bench unlocking procedure.

With the ECU successfully unlocked, it was over to our friends at Ecotune HQ to get the calibration process underway! 💻🔥

Once both the ECU and TCU software had been applied, we carried out our road logging and final checks to ensure everything was performing exactly as intended.

THE RESULT? 😈🔥

A completely transformed M240i!

The Milltek system has given this B58 the soundtrack it deserves, while Ecotune’s Stage 1 ECU and TCU software has drastically improved the performance over stock.

It’s safe to say this M240i now sounds as good as it looks and goes every bit as well! 💜

Jamie was absolutely over the moon when collecting his car and has since taken the time to leave us an incredible review. Feedback like this genuinely means a lot to us, especially as a small independent business. 🙏🏾

🔥 STAGE 1 MK7.5 GOLF R | 378BHP & 409LBFT 🔥

Now that’s dedication… an 8-hour round trip for the Ignite experience! 🤝🔥

Today we welcomed Reece and his MK7.5 Golf R into the workshop after he made the huge journey down to take advantage of our Stage 1 package, utilising Ecotune’s ECU & TCU software. ⚡️

Reece has been following us on social media for a while and decided it was finally time to make the trip down and meet the team — AKA Dane & Owen 🤣 — and see what we could do with his R.

As always, we started with our comprehensive pre-tuning inspection. With everything given a clean bill of health, we strapped the car onto the dyno to establish a stock baseline:

With the baseline established, we applied Ecotune’s Stage 1 ECU & TCU calibration before carrying out our usual dyno logging and checks.

The final result:

🔥 378BHP
🔥 409LBFT

That’s a gain of 67BHP and 93LBFT over stock! 🚀

But the figures only tell half the story. The additional area under the torque curve has completely transformed how this Golf R delivers its performance on the road — waking up that numb factory feeling with noticeably increase in power and improved drivability through the gears. 😮‍💨🔥

A proper transformation from a simple Stage 1 package.

🔥 FORGED MK7.5 GTI | POWERMAX 1 | 440BHP & 445LBFT 🔥

What started as a turbo failure quickly turned into a full V2 forged build for Leehal’s MK7.5 GTI… 🔧🔥

A few months back, Leehal came to us after what he believed was simply a failed turbo. Our initial inspection confirmed the turbo had suffered a major failure, so the original plan was straightforward — upgrade to a Garrett Powermax 1 and get the GTI back on the road.

Unfortunately, further investigation revealed the damage went much deeper than first thought… the turbo failure had also taken the engine with it. 😔

After discussing the findings and all available options with Leehal, the decision was made to forge the engine.

That’s where Dave from UNA Performance came in, supplying Leehal with a freshly built engine before sending it down to us to get Project V2 underway.

With the engine back with us, we got to work rebuilding everything and completing the setup with all the required Powermax 1 Stage 3 hardware, alongside some additional upgrades including an APR oil catch can system.

Once everything was together, we completed the required running-in procedure before carrying out our final health checks and preparing the car for Ecotune’s Stage 3 ECU & TCU software.

After completing our dyno session, followed by extensive road logging and final checks, the GTI is operating exactly as it should and has finally been handed back to Leehal to enjoy. 😎

From a catastrophic failure to a forged 440BHP Powermax GTI — this one has definitely been a bittersweet journey, but seeing it back on the road makes it all worthwhile. ❤️‍🔥

And this is only V2… there are already more plans in the pipeline. 👀🫡

As a lovely finishing touch to the project, We even got to sign Leehal’s intake — a small detail, but one that makes this build feel even more personal. 🖊️

Another EA888 transformed 😎💨

We recently had this Audi S3 8V in with us for our Stage 2 package, complemented by Ecotune’s Stage 2 ECU & TCU software.

As always, before any tuning takes place, the S3 went through our pre-tuning health inspection to make sure everything was performing exactly as it should before we fitted any hardware.

With the checks completed and everything given the green light along with fitting the required hardware, we moved onto the tuning and logging process, finishing up with a very healthy:

STAGE 3 MK7.5 GOLF R | POWERMAX 1 | 455BHP & 445LBFT 🔥

Another Powermax 1 Golf R ✅ 😈🔥

We recently had Alex’s MK7.5 Golf R in with us to take things to the next level with our Stage 3 Powermax 1 package, complemented by Ecotune Stage 3 ECU & TCU software.

Alex had already taken the car to Stage 2, with the supporting hardware already installed, but like most of us… Stage 2 eventually wasn’t enough 😂 So the next logical step was a Garrett Powermax 1 turbo upgrade 😎

Before touching the hardware, we carried out our usual non-negotiable pre-tuning inspection, making sure the car was healthy and ready for the additional performance.

With everything given the green light, Owen got stuck into fitting the Powermax 1, before handing the car over to Dane for the software, dyno and logging process.

With Ecotune Stage 3 ECU & TCU software applied and everything thoroughly logged, Alex’s Golf R finished up at:
