My Name is Jon Davis I am an English Car Mechanic in Riberac area (St Meard de Drone) and Fully French registered. another vw tiguan in for dsg oil and filter service and the rear haldex oil change but i also like to remove the haldex pump to clean the plastic filter gauze and the housing out and this is the reason why... for some reason the dealers suggest that only the oil needs changing and the pump doesnt need to be removed but i would say otherwize considering this has only covered 75000miles and is just over 6 years old.

injector seals being replaced a couple weeks ago due to leaking past the copper compression washer. all good after and back to running how it should

well wasnt expecting to find this when changing the spark plugs on this car in for service last week, the old rocker cover gasket is starting to fail around the spark plug holes causing oil to pass, ordered up a new rocker cover gasket and it will be as good as new.

during a service last week whilst checking over the customers car i found at the front of the engine some wiring that was rubbing though a quick and easy repair done to stop any issues in the near future and then wrapped and secured back into a safe position.

this car came in with engine light on and in limp mode, after running a diagnostic and reading the fault codes it revealed the codes to an issue i have had a couple times in the past so proceeded to check and found this throttle valve carboned up causing it to restrict movement, simple clean up and test is all that was needed and back to running how it should no engine light anymore :)

a good reason to keep up with yearly maintenance, this oil filter was clogged up with thick carbon sludge now all fresh and new after cleaning out the housing and sump and now with fresh oil

2002 passat in for a service advised could be worth having a check of the egr as they build up carbon... think its safe to say was well worth checking. car can now breath better than before.
