From an idea to the first laps at Willow Springs.

Fifty years after the original crew helped make GT350 history, Jim Marietta, Ted Sutton, Peter Brock and the team were back together to see the first two OVC R-Models hit the track.

The cars they always wanted to build, finally out where they belonged.

And now, 60 years after the GT350 story began, the Original Venice Crew is still making history.

A piece of racing history, recreated.

The European Ford Team “Blue Jacket” was inspired by the Guardsman Blue jackets worn by Ford of Europe team members during the era, including Chris Amon and Bruce McLaren at Le Mans in 1966.

OVC recreated the jacket with the same tight diamond quilting, zippers, pockets, and period-correct patch placement as the original team jacket.

Before the laps at Willow Springs came the long hours in the shop.

Throwing it back to the build of the first two OVC R-Model Mustangs for the 50th anniversary of the GT350. Jim Marietta and Duane Carling were working on assembly, Peter Brock was reshaping the front valance and rear ventilator window, and Ted Sutton was dialing in the cooling ducts.

A lot of work left. A hard deadline ahead. And the original crew building the R-Model they always wanted.

Fall just hits different with an OVC Mustang in the frame.

Cooler air, changing leaves, and an OVC Competition G.T. Mustang carving through the mountains.

Definitely our favorite time of year.

A great weekend for the Original Venice Crew.

OVC Competition G.T. Mustang #60 took 1st Place in the Competition Car class at the LASAAC 21st annual Tony Sousa Car Show in Rancho Dominguez, California.

We always enjoy getting the cars out, but even more, we enjoyed speaking with everyone who stopped by to share stories, ask questions, and spend time with the crew.
