Good Day All

This message is from the President of the Fiji Rental Car Association to the car hires

We wish to advise you to choose your rental companies wisely, as we are receiving complaints regarding scams and fraudulent operators.
Please not the following before hiring a vehicle

★ Do not hire a rental vehicle and allow unauthorised drivers to drive it, as this is a breach of the rental agreement.
★ Always inspect the vehicle and take photos/videos as evidence of any existing damages or marks before driving off.
★ Please read your rental agreement carefully, or request staff to fully brief you before taking the vehicle.
★ Drive responsibly and within speed limits at all times.
★ Do not drink and drive. If you plan to consume alcohol, please inform the rental company to add an additional authorised driver.
★ Always keep a copy of the rental agreement inside the vehicle, as it may be required by LTA or Police during road checks.

Let us all stay safe on our roads during this festive season.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Vinaka,
Mohammed Safik
President

Things to Check Before Taking Out a Rental Car

Before driving off in a rental car, always take a few minutes to make sure everything is in order. This helps protect you, the rental company, and ensures safe travel on Fiji’s roads.

✅ Important Things to Check:
• Rental Agreement – Read and understand the terms and conditions before signing.
• Vehicle Condition – Inspect the car for any dents, scratches, or damage. Take photos or videos for record.
• Fuel Level – Check the fuel gauge and confirm the company’s fuel return policy.
• Tyres & Spare Wheel – Make sure tyres are in good condition and the spare tyre, jack, and tools are in place.
• Lights & Indicators – Test all lights, indicators, and wipers before leaving.
• License & Insurance – Ensure the car has valid registration, insurance, and roadworthy certificate.
• Emergency Contacts – Get the company’s contact numbers in case of breakdowns or accidents.
• Personal Belongings – Remove all personal items before returning the car.
• Please demand all payment receipts and a Agreement copy.
