School Reopens Tomorrow 17th June 2026

NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

Schools reopening on Wednesday, 17 June

✅ Central Division
• All schools will reopen.
• Schools in the Naitasiri, Namosi and Rewa Education Districts will remain closed due to flooding and unsafe access routes.

✅ Western Division
• All schools will reopen.
• Schools in the Ra Education District will remain closed due to adverse weather conditions and safety concerns.

✅ Eastern Division
• All schools will reopen.
• Schools in the Lau and Kadavu Education Districts will remain closed because of strong winds, heavy rainfall, rough seas and transportation difficulties, especially for students travelling by boat.

✅ Northern Division
• All schools in the Northern Division and those that are not mentioned above, are to resume normal operations from tomorrow Wednesday, 17 June.

📌 Parents and guardians are advised to:
• Use their discretion when deciding whether to send their children to school.
• Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of their children at all times.
• Avoid sending children to school if roads, crossings or travel routes are unsafe.

📌 These decisions were made following consultations between the Ministry of Education, the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO), the Fiji Meteorological Service and other relevant authorities based on the latest weather reports.

📌 The Ministry of Education will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if conditions change.

The safety and wellbeing of students, teachers and school communities remain the Ministry's highest priority.

ALL SCHOOLS IN FIJI CLOSED. PARENTS URGED TO MONITOR WEATHER UPDATES

Parents and guardians are advised not to send their children to school today, Tuesday 16 June, as all schools throughout Fiji are closed.

The decision was made by the,, which continue to monitor the worsening weather conditions across the country.

Persistent heavy rainfall, strong winds, coastal inundation and flooding are affecting many parts of Fiji, with further flooding expected. The closure is a precautionary measure to minimise unnecessary travel and ensure the safety and wellbeing of students, teachers and school communities.

Following consultations with the National Disaster Risk Management Office and the Fiji Meteorological Service Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro is urging parents and guardians to keep children safely at home and not to attempt to cross flooded roads, bridges, creeks or rivers, or travel through affected areas.

The Ministry of Education, together with relevant authorities, will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates, including advice on the reopening of schools, when it is safe to do so.

The safety and wellbeing of Fiji’s children remain the highest priority.

🚧 BILO ROAD UPGRADE 🚧
Saturday 9th May 2026

Please be advised that due to the road upgrade works from Bilo Junction up to Bilo Top, our bus service will be affected today, Saturday 9th May 2026.

FRA road works are currently underway and repairs may take some time due to gravel trucks and heavy machinery operating in the area.

All Bilo passengers are kindly requested to make necessary arrangements and also inform other Bilo residents that buses will only drop off and pick up passengers at the Gun Site / Bilo Junction area where access is safe.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
