What to do when you FIRST arrive in Fiji...

As soon as I clear security, I always top up my Digicel Sim card (sim cards and travel packages/top ups are pretty cheap, but the network throughout Fiji isn't always great).

I get some cashout from the ATM (usually a $10 fee each transaction). This way you're not carrying ALL your cash at one time.

I go to the toilet (I have been known to change my outfit at this stage too, cause it's so hot).

I fill my water bottle OR stop at the petrol station/local shop and get 1.5L for $1.50. NEVER buy water at the airport 🤑 Even better, stop and get a fresh coconut from the boys along the roadside for $2!

Then I grab my hire car from Bakers Rental Cars (these guys are the most reliable AND will always negotiate a better deal for a longer stay. After being ripped off by other companies before, I won't go anywhere else now).
