We lead a new category of manufacturing solutions for fast-movers in automotive, defense, and other high-tech industrial sectors. Valmet Automotive is a leading service provider in battery systems, roof and kinematic systems and vehicle manufacturing. Valmet Automotive has 3 battery plants - in Salo and Uusikaupunki in Finland, and in Kirchardt in Germany. Our main customers are currently Mercedes

-Benz and Volvo. Valmet Automotive manufactures the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and has manufacturing contracts for the Mercedes-AMG GT, Lightyear 0 and Sono Motors Sion. Valmet Automotive provides convertible roof systems with locations in Germany and Poland for e.g. Mercedes-Benz, BMW/MINI and VW/Bentley.

Transforming the business doesn't come by itself – it needs work and strong commitment – it needs people. ✨🤝

Together with a strategic decision to expand the company from a vehicle contract manufacturer to a multi-industry partner for contract manufacturing and industrial solutions in technology sectors like defense and coaches, we formed a commercial team to get things rolling.

Sales teams for automotive, defense, and industrial solutions, together with business and sales development, and marketing and communications, gathered yesterday to look back on the achievements as well as plan future actions.

We believe the strength in this unique transformation is in collaboration; the commercial team is only a part of the full power of our organization, with professionals and people competence built over 55 years.

A few moments from DALO Industry Days!🌐

This week, team Valmet Automotive attended DALO Industry Days in Denmark – Scandinavia’s largest defense industry exhibition - bringing together people and organizations from across the defense sector. Over two days, the event offered plenty of opportunities to meet and discover valuable insights with OEMs, industry partners, and defense sector professionals.

The strong interest in Valmet Automotive’s capabilities, services, and proven industrial expertise confirms the importance of reliable manufacturing partnerships in this evolving market.

At Valmet Automotive, we want to enable our people to make the most of their free time by providing a wide range of opportunities to try new activities and enjoy doing things together.

Our leisure activities include various sports activities, hobby groups, opportunities to try new things, and events from summer parties to family days. Our clubhouse, Laturi, also offers a gym, a golf simulator, a weaving room, and a crafts club, among other activities for free use by personnel.

A group of our people is responsible for planning and organizing the leisure activities. The aim is to offer meaningful, diverse activities that support well-being also outside working hours.

For decades, doing things together has brought joy, new experiences, and friendships to people across our organization.✨

We have reached a major sustainability milestone ahead of schedule: our recycling rate has increased to 70% (non-hazardous), achieving our 2027 target already in 2025.♻️

This progress reflects a systematic approach to waste management across our operations. We manage both non-hazardous and hazardous waste streams responsibly, with clear source separation, defined operational responsibilities, dedicated training, and full legal compliance for waste handling.

Guided by the waste hierarchy, we aim for waste prevention, reuse and recycling, working closely with our waste management partners to continuously improve performance. When recycling is not feasible, residual waste is directed to energy recovery.

A strong result and an encouraging sign that determined, practical actions can accelerate progress toward more sustainable operations.🌟

Since 2020, we have cut our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by more than 90%.🌱

This progress has been driven by concrete actions across our operations, including:

✅ transitioning to 97% renewable electricity

✅ increasing the use of renewable fuels, such as HVO

✅ improving energy efficiency through process optimization, equipment upgrades and heat recovery

✅ expanding on-site renewable energy generation, including photovoltaic panels at our new Roof & Kinematics production facilities in Poland, complementing existing solar installations in Uusikaupunki

These actions reflect our ongoing commitment to more sustainable operations and measurable climate action. A strong step forward in reducing our climate impact and the work continues now in our value chain (Scope 3).
