We lead a new category of manufacturing solutions for fast-movers in automotive, defense, and other high-tech industrial sectors. Valmet Automotive is a leading service provider in battery systems, roof and kinematic systems and vehicle manufacturing. Valmet Automotive has 3 battery plants - in Salo and Uusikaupunki in Finland, and in Kirchardt in Germany. Our main customers are currently Mercedes

-Benz and Volvo. Valmet Automotive manufactures the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, and has manufacturing contracts for the Mercedes-AMG GT, Lightyear 0 and Sono Motors Sion. Valmet Automotive provides convertible roof systems with locations in Germany and Poland for e.g. Mercedes-Benz, BMW/MINI and VW/Bentley.

Today, we proudly celebrate 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬, a day that honours commitment, cooperation, and national resilience, while reminding us of the critical importance of strong and capable defense.

In today’s rapidly evolving security environment, resilience is built not only by defense forces but through close collaboration between nations, partners, and industry. Ensuring operational readiness, security of supply, and industrial capability requires long-term commitment and shared responsibility.

Strengthening cooperation between defense forces and industry is key to building a more resilient and secure future together.

On Tuesday, we attended the event focusing on these topics - Suuri Puolustusteollisuuspäivä. Discussion reinforced the message: Security and the economy go hand in hand.

Today, we got visitors to Uusikaupunki, when Carrus Delta and Volvo Buses Finland drove the Volvo Bus to the yard of Valmet Automotive’s plant. 💯

Inspiring discussions were held on this great product that will soon be manufactured here at Uusikaupunki. The Valmet Automotive personnel got a unique opportunity today to get to know the product.

Our amazing people went straight to the point and studied every inch of the coach with real interest and enthusiasm. What a great opportunity to learn new things and to have expertise in this automotive sector. Production of coach bodies suits well in the company’s strategic transformation to serve customers in different high-tech industries.

Valmet Automotive is thrilled to take the next step, becoming a multi-product contract manufacturer in a versatile business environment and new sectors.

Moments from SHIFT 2026 ✨

Yesterday, the SHIFT Business Festival once again brought together a great group of local stakeholders, companies and business representatives, as well as students and future talents. The event took place in beautiful, sunny weather in Turku, Finland.

Valmet Automotive also took part in the event. You could find our strategic transformation story playing on video at the event screens, and Pasi Rannus took the stage together with Anna Perho to discuss Finnish industrial expertise and the role of community in driving business success.

Our company is currently undergoing one of the most significant transformations in history, as Valmet Automotive has evolved into a multi-industry company. We lead a new category of manufacturing solutions for fast-movers in automotive, defense, and other high-tech industrial sectors.

Yesterday at the Telia Smart Industry breakfast event, Antti Havola (Vice President, Defense Business, Valmet Automotive), spoke about the role of contract manufacturers during disruption.

Antti presented the Valmet Automotive story and how decades of automotive-grade manufacturing experience can be developed into an advantage for industries facing speed, resilience, and productivity pressures, such as the defense sector.

Saab history is returning to Uusikaupunki this Saturday!✨

The event brings together Saab enthusiasts and iconic Saab models from different generations, giving visitors the chance to admire cars of different ages and styles.

A special Saab model from the Car Museum, manufactured at our Uusikaupunki plant – will also be on display at the event.

🏁 Did you know that rally history has also been made at our Uusikaupunki plant?

Back in the late 1980s, Valmet Automotive had in serial production the Saab 900 Turbo M rally car, purpose-built for competition and part of one of Finland’s most exciting rally series of its time.

This Saturday, that motorsport legacy lives on as we take part in the Kuljetus J. Kuusela Oy Rally, organized by Raision Urheiluautoilijat ry as part of the Historic Rally Trophy series.

📍 The rally starts from the Valmet Automotive area in Uusikaupunki (Autotehtaankatu) on Saturday, May 16, at 10:00.

At Valmet Automotive, we believe it’s important that working life also supports life outside of work – that family life is taken into account, flexibility is available when needed, and parental leave is equally supported for everyone. 🌹

In celebration of today, we asked the moms in our community what helps them make everyday family life run more smoothly – and here’s what they shared:

💬 The most important factors supporting family life for me are flexible working hours, the possibility of partial remote work, and an understanding work culture, which is reflected in concrete ways such as employer-supported leave when a child is sick. In addition, our work community has a supportive atmosphere that takes different life situations into account.

💬 Parenthood fits naturally into the workday, and work adapts through different stages of life. Our top management, regardless of gender, sets an example that parental leave is an important chapter of life – and it is equally supported for everyone.

💬 For me, a smooth everyday life is built above all on flexibility and a culture of trust, where family situations are met with understanding. Company family days have also been memorable for our children – they get to see where mom works and admire robots, forklifts, and other machines. For many little ones, it truly is a dream day!
